Who says we need a big man up front anymore, i hope the days of hoofing the ball up to bothroyd with only a plan A have gone now dj and jay have left, i think mm will have more up his sleeve than that and will get us playing football on the floor with a plan b and c if things aint going to plan, there have been plenty of sucsessfull strike pairings with no big man over the years that bang the goals in, cole and yorke in the treble era, rooney and hernandez for man u last season and villa and torres for spain to win the euros and world cup just to name a few off the top of my head.

Its not essentail to start with a big man up front, but if needs be we always got the biggest of big men to call on, the beeeeeaaaasssst

Defence looks pretty solid, especially with Gerrard helping out as an additional centre back when under pressure.
Midfield has creativity in the centre.
A couple of decent wingers with the ability to actually cross the ball
(room for 1 more flyer - someone with real pace to frighten the B'Jesus out of the fullback.
Whitts playing a more attacking role this season. A fox in the box so to speak. Sublime touch to poach a few in and around the penalty area.
Goodwille as lone striker supported by Whitts and Cowie.
The Beast to come on for more aggression.
