New Offer for Goodwillie

Mon Jun 27, 2011 3:05 am

We have gone back with an improved offer for Goodwillie. He's agreed outline terms with us so if they accept the new bid, done deal.

It's a decent amount up front, over a mill, and the rest on the drip, drip.

He played and scored yesterday for Dundee United in there pre-season tour of Ireland. Looks good at SPL level but I do worry that if he's not quite good enough then it's a lot of money for us to pay when we could get say Earnie on a free transfer instead.

Mate, Earnie has had his best days. The SPL is admittedly not as strong as the Championship
but everyone in Scotland is raving about this lad, they are a football nation, love the game
and believe he's their hottest prospect since Duncan Ferguson. He will score more than Earnie
but will also set up more than Earnie, and is renowned for niggling away at defenders all game
whereas Bothroyd sometimes needed electric shock treatment to get motivated

CARDIFF CITY are moving closer to signing Dundee United striker David Goodwillie.

The Championship side have been in discussions with Tannadice club - who have also had official contact from Rangers and Blackpool - with manager Malky Mackay understood to be edging towards making what would be an acceptable offer.
