All kicking off now. Game stopped at injury time, Belgrado lead 3 - 1 on agg. Riots in the stadium. Love the passion in Argentinian football :ayatollah:

their league is really weird
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%80%9311_Argentine_Primera_Divisi%C3%B3n_season

they play two seasons within one season,
they have a promotion/relegation play-off

THIS LEAGUE IS SO BIZARRE!!!

Brazilian League like two years ago used to be ABSOLUTE HELL, especially in lower divisions. All other South American leagues are really dumb too.

in most South American leagues, there are two seasons in football which they called as Clausura (closing championship which runs from February to June) & Apertura (opening championship from August to December).

all teams in the league will play against each other once in one championship each. the teams which finish as champions of Apertura & Clausura will play-off against each other to become the champions of ARGENTINA. however, if the team wins the Apertura & Clausura championship, then no play-off is required.

the promotion & relegation is not a straight forward three up, three down after the end of the season. relegation is based on an averaging system. at the end of each season, the two teams with the worst three-year averages are relegated, and the best two teams in the second division are promoted.

the teams placed 17th and 18th in the averages table play a best-of-three playoff (called "promociĆ³n") with the 4th and 3rd second division teams, respectively. thus, the number of teams promoted each year varies between two and four. Newly-promoted teams only average the seasons since their last promotion.

that's just stupid
i much prefer our system :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
