Anyone ever remember a right winger in the 60's called Greg Farrell. Came form the Birmingham area. On his day he was like Ronaldo (ex man Utd) Remember one game in particular v Mboro when who ever lost got relegated from then Division 2. We beat then 5-3 Greg was outstanding doing all the tricks with the ball and mesmerized the poor Boro full back. He scored two I think that day and we won 5-3.
Another interesting stat from that game was that the Boro centre half called Dickie Rooks scored all Boros goals, One from the penalty spot one form a corner and another from a free kick. he must have been really peed off. How many other center halves score a hat-trick away from home and end up on the losing side??????
But I will always remember that game for Greg farrells outstanding display and kept city in Division 2 (old version) that day

Defining 'best' is a toughy....
Most skillful?? Most committed?? Most legendary?? Most appearances?? etc etc
Personally, I'd go for 'worth to the side' and my mind switches straight on to:
Young Earnshaw....!!
