Whatever happened to him I know he became involved with the Cardiff City youth programme before going to work for the Royal Mail.

my mate knows derek well, great bloke,im told hes liveing in merthyr,he once went to watch hereford with him ,and they were chanting his name throughout the game,my mate a bit younger didnt realise he was such a legend !!
he once spent a short period as the manager of treharris athletic ,it didnt go very well !!
in my opinion derek was a great player !!!
