project rebuild

Tue May 24, 2011 11:22 am

Dear Fans,

here is my opinion on what should happen during the summer and season 11/12.

NEW MANAGER = Big Sam or Martin O'Neill

Need to really look to sign at least 6 - 8 players who really want to play for Cardiff and for this to happen we need our owners to back us. Reflecting on our season i do believe that for Cardiff to go forward we need to look to strengthen the following positions and therefore I have complied a list of players with potential to either have an immediate impact or will do in a few years.

GOALKEEPER

Jason Steel 20 or Alex Smithies 19 - probably going to cost around 2 million mark.
DC Billy Jones - from Preston who out of contract.
MC Emmual Thomas - on season loan from Arsenal
MC Jack Collinson - Versatile midfielder from West Ham who we could pick up for 2 - 4 million
MC Tom Cleverley - Midfielder who has experience playing in Premiership as well as the Championship
MR Adam Hamill - Ex Liverpool player who had a good season at Barnsley and now at Wolves
FC Rob Earnshaw Return to his home town and could get a good 2 seasons out of him.
FC Craig Bellamy Our big name signing and has to be our first signing of the summer because prove that we mean business
FC Michael Owen - Given regular football he could produce the goods for us. This would be a shock signing but again shows our vision to take the club to the next level.

There's more but these are the type of player we need. Come on Cardiff lets do it!!

Sell the following players
Jon Parkin
Stephen McPhail
Solomon Taiwo
Michael Chopra

Good list and would certainly signal our intentions if we were to get and I mean keep some of the names on there :ayatollah:

Only one problem - Emmanual Thomas - The man makes Fortune West look like Lionel Messi

Just get some young players in who can play football and are hungry and fill in with some experienced players down the spine of the side.
new goalkeeper(willing to command his box and back 4 and come off his line for crosses)
1 left back(with some pace who can defend and get forward)
1 center half(a bully with some experience and a bit of pace)
3 central midfielders(2 who can put their foot on the ball and run a game. one who can stop the other side playing.
3 strikers ( with some pace who dont keep falling over)(or getting pissed)
2 wide men(who can deliver crosses/balls into the box from open play and corners)

90% not realistic ,surly a good manager could bring in most of the players we need from the released /out of contract list ,complemented with some younger hungry players from the lower leagues. this team would surly be mid table at worst ,1heaton 2 quinn 3 hudson 4 gerard 5 mcnoughton 6 whitts 7 blake 8 mcphail 9 bellamy 10 chops 11 parkin subs marshall kienen gypes wildig jarvis meades a n other, maybe we are not so bad off as we are lead to believe ,add 5/6 new players as per above and get them working as a team under a new motivational manager and who knows what might happen, nearer the top than the bottom me thinks, :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

money would have to come from selling players and investment from the owners. New boss = we have to back him and back him with money.

So who are you going to sell to raise that sort of money?

We got wealthy owners and remember we would only have to purchase Bellamy & smithies or Steel with the others being out of contract. Im also positive we could come to some arrangement and structure a deal where we pay them over a few months etc...

NEW MANAGER = Big Sam or Martin O'Neill (and CCFC are really top of their list?? Don't want Allardyce, that is a personal thing, he'd do a job but in such a tedious way I dont want to see it. He is also too arrogant. Martin O'Neill wouldn't join us, but I'd obviously love him here....But would a man who left Villa for not giving him an extra £30m for transfers really want to a rebuilding job in the championship?)

Jason Steel 20 or Alex Smithies 19 - probably going to cost around 2 million mark. (Really? I would try for Westwood from Cov, but we arent so bad on keepers...despite having never really replaced Alexander)
DC Billy Jones - from Preston who out of contract (hmmm)

MC Emmual Thomas - on season loan from Arsenal

MC Jack Collinson - Versatile midfielder from West Ham who we could pick up for 2 - 4 million (if he goes, its prem, he is class. If he plays Championship this season its' with his boyhood team, would love him at City though, it just won't happen)

MC Tom Cleverley - Midfielder who has experience playing in Premiership as well as the Championship (did well in Prem last season, would like him, can't see him liking us)

MR Adam Hamill - Ex Liverpool player who had a good season at Barnsley and now at Wolves (only bought in Jan, maybe if available on the cheap, but he won't be)

FC Rob Earnshaw Return to his home town and could get a good 2 seasons out of him. (realistic, only 30 years old, come back Earnie)

FC Craig Bellamy Our big name signing and has to be our first signing of the summer because prove that we mean business (would put a smile on my pace, became a footballing hero to all of us last season and is a natural leader, please please sign, lets hope the money men make it possible)

FC Michael Owen - Given regular football he could produce the goods for us. This would be a shock signing but again shows our vision to take the club to the next level. (Do the names Fowler and Jimmy Floyd mean anything to you?)

Sell the following players
Jon Parkin (depends who else we get, he is cheap and handy as a plan B, was barely used for anything more than about 7 minutes, keep the beast - I think)

Stephen McPhail (are you mad? keep him all day long, adds some craft to our midfield)

Solomon Taiwo (give him away)

Michael Chopra (see what the (hopefully) new manager can get from him, we know he can do it at this level, he needs to work hard and prove himself again, keep)

and a big..............

....JET - are you having a laugh? He is bone idle, crap and one of the type of half arsed lazy signings that have left us debating a rebuilding job and a new manager on forums when we are supposed to be working.

He is the laziest player to wear a cardiff city shirt since Richard Langley

^^^^^^^^^^^ this.

How anybody can mention this waste of space's name in a city shirt again is beyond me. Apart from Bellamy (obviously) all the loans can feck off and not come back.
