" Down the Vale today "

Fri May 20, 2011 6:41 pm

Just a little bit of gossip from the Vale today. My son who is in the Pencoed College Football Academy and coached by ex city player Jason Perry, was taken down the Vale to be involved in a coaching session with Cardiff City players who were doing their coaching badges. He was chatting to the three players involved Tom Heaton, Gavin Rae and Seyi Olofinjana. Tom told him he is staying, Ollie wants to stay but doesn't know if he can extend his loan and Gavin Rae said his farewells to the team yesterday - Aberdeen are the only team that has been linked to him and he thinks he might be going there, but is definately leaving us. :) :ayatollah:

Good luck to Gavin Rae. He never gave less than 100 %. Not the greatest player but a real trier. As for Ollie staying on, not for me thanks. He started well, went totally off the boil, got better again briefly and finished the season feebly. Time for him and us to move on.

Gav farewell and thanks for the memories. Oli needs to go, he's been a waste of space for way too much of the season. Heaton is no better than a backup, hopefully we have a first choice keeper lined up but would expect him to stay. He is one sining dj made who is a perm.

Thought Oly was just what we needed when he signed and he started brightly, just like lots of others he then went right off the boil. He then got it back together only to completely crumble in the last few games continually turning into trouble and giving the ball away more often than not, also got to question DJ's tactics of playing him with Whitts in the middle with Oli pushing on, he looked completely out of place playing in this formation.

When Ollie played well WE played well, he was not consistent and the inconsistency cost us big for an automatic

Spot on!! Oli as attacking mid and whitts holding in the play offs was mental!!!! Oli looked lost and we all know whitts has a cracking shot yet he was never within range to have a crack! Yet another example of the ineptitude of Dave Jones!

RAE WAS A FULLY COMMITED PLAYER BUT LIMITED, I DO THINK HE COULD HAVE DONE A JOB FOR US IN THE LAST COUPLE OF GAMES AS OUR MIDFIELD WAS WORSE THAN EVER. GOOD LUCK GAVIN :ayatollah:
