Annis, what I don't understand is, isn't a large part of the debt the club owes payable to Sam (Langstone). Didn't they take us to court to wind us up? If so why the Sam Love'in

No. If the club had spoken to Sam rather than ignore him and then there wouldn't have been any need for any legal action. The winding up bit was just spin that was put out by the club at the time. Fact is whether anyone likes it not, the club has had plenty of winding up orders but NONE whilst Sam was around and certainly NOT ONE in any way because of Sam.
Maybe people should worry about the many winding up orders that were very real rather than the fictional ones that never existed yet people still blame Sam for.

Wasn't there a court case with Langston?

Yes to get the club talking to him. Completely avoidable though.

Re: BRING BACK SAM

Mmmmm litigation just to talk, thought only reason delayed was because the club got a ruling that they coould challenge who was Lanhston??

The gist of the case was that Sam went down the road of the club has no defence. He was never going to win that one because every case has a defence. Basically the outcome was that the court said that the club would be able to put forward a defence should it go to a proper fight. What Sam achieved there though was he got the debt recognised and not ignored. Simple really. Now some try to twist things more than Ridsdale did by quoting lines from the legal documents etc but it all boils down to the same thing. When you have a debt it's best to talk to the people you owe it to. Who Langston is is totally irrelevant. Try stop paying your mortgage and then tell them you are not paying them because you don't know who the people are behind the bank etc. They'd laugh at you.

Berwyn

You say in another post in this thread that the club has had many winding up orders against it.

In fact , even though it has come perilously close on a number of occasions under both Hammam and Ridsdale , it has no such orders granted or it would have ceased to exist.

A point I would like to bring to attention . It's a valid point. Opinion to the question should be interesting too.

Why is anyone interested/bothered who Langstone actually are in person? They are a group who loaned 24 million unsecured to a football club apart from that why is anyone concerned who they are ? They clearly nominate Hammam to speak and act on their behalf is that not enough?

i think sam would make me nervous if he came back

Re: BRING BACK SAM

Why important is when we were buying big time we all thought Sam was funding it himself. Then we find out all the loan notes etc and if that was Sam then yes it is important.

What you have to look at is the fact these loan notes are security for Sam. Lets face it would you plough your money into a club then just write it off allowing the likes of Ridsdale to benefit from it? Ok at the time Ridsdale was not about but obviuosly Sam had foresight here so basically secured his investment. Also take into account that security was not exactly tight was it. How much of this money has he had back?

Re: BRING BACK SAM

Sat May 21, 2011 12:19 pm

So when we were buying big time did you think it was debt or Sam ploughing money in? If we knew the club was going to have to pay him back then he should have been transparent.

All he did was what Risdale did at Leeds, speculated big time with borrowed money.

Couple of questions.

1) Who is this person Sam N Bellers (and what does he middle initial N stand for)?

2) "We will get their" what? You didn`t finish the sentence. What will we be getting that belongs to them?

I think if you look at other clubs that have a money man in charge who is a fan then you will find some contract that secures their investment. Doughty the Nottingham Forest chairman has ploughed quite a bit of his money into them but he has it set up so much that he actually gets an interest payment back. I think he will see all his money back if Forest get oth e premier but in the meantime all he is getting is an interest rate for the money he has loaned.

From what I understand Sam was doing the same thing as what Doughty is doing now. It has been documented that Sam was relying on the new build of CCS for his plans to become fruitition. I think the stadium was 3 years behind the schedule he wanted. The reasons for that have been told many times on here and is another debate. If Sam was allowed to build the stadium then the pressutre of the debt would have been alot less.
