DJ Asks Us Not To Tar Everyone With The Same Brush

Fri May 06, 2011 8:30 am

He is of course talking about the players who have let this club, it's fans and themselves down by being out socialising after the Player Of The Year event.

In fairness to DJ he does say that the players, WHO HAVE DONE THIS, will be dealt with in a manner which the club and its fans deserve. So firstly this is no longer a rumour as he says quite clearly that the players WHO HAVE DONE THIS will be dealt with at the appropriate time.

I'm also glad that DJ promises that these players will be dealt with in a manner the fans deserve but I disagree about the appropriate time statement.

For me the appropriate time is now and without any further delay the guilty players should be named, suspended by the club and not allowed anywhere near the remaining players in our squad who are giving their all to earn promotion.

In my opinion the squad needs to be cleansed of players who don't care about the club, us the fans or themselves really and we as fans need to know that every player wearing the blue shirt is focused only on getting us promoted.

Just my opinion DJ :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think a few may well be gone end of season, just reading between the lines

I'm sure your right there John it's just this whole thing will keep grinding away at me until the guilty players are named, shamed and sent on their way from this club. Deep down I'm not sure DJ has the stomach for it. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Thanks to the posters who were at the player of the year awards, we do know that DJ did all he could to ensure they left sober and went home after the event.

For the very first time ever I do feel sorry for DJ because clearly some players defied his instructions and that damnation will now follow them everywhere during what's left of their miserable careers.

I also think DJ has called it right by not naming the individual players. There are games to play and we don't want to give the temptation to any fan (myself included) to vent their anger during game time.

And wehn he got rid of McCormack (or dropped him) and Gerrrarrd for similar I imagine many of these same fans who are now deriding the club for a 'lack of discipline' were also on his back for getting rid of these players.

in honour of someone else who posted here's an anagram: Vade Sonej t'acn iwn tiwh meos!!!

I think we have a problem with discipline at our club and covering the latest story with the club has dealy with it as an Internal Matter is in my opinion a fudge.

Last year Darcy Blake was sent out on loan because DJ was concerned about his lifestyle, being late for training not being able to pass a McDonalds without visiting the drive through. To a point it seemed to work with Darcy but lets face it he has been the subject of a police investigation this season because of a socialising issue.

I believe we need our players focused on these playoff games and anyone who was out until the early morning before an important game like last monday is a risk to the very focus we need. Almost a cancer that needs to be surgically removed from the main body rather than this internal treatment.

If they are not in the squad there will be no chance of the fans being tempted to give them a dogs abuse and if they are named and removed we will all know that the players out there are giving their best and are focused.

I'm not saying I'm right it's just my opinion. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Agreed.

I don't often give DJ credit but I think he's right on this.

I have a lot of sympathy with your view and believe me I would love to kick seven shits out the wankers who defied instructions due to their own selfishness, but there are at most 4 games left this season and we have already shot ourselves in the foot several times this season.

It is best to leave it for now, but those players will pay a heavy price when outed at the end of the season.

Where is the link to DJs statement but i do believe he is in a no win situation. Hell we are now in one massive dog fight and we know 4 players are involved so far. Is there any more ? and as for one of the four he is tee total apparently so does that make him not as bad as the rest ? What in my opinion they should be officially named and the rest is up to the players involved would they apologize ? would they mean it ? would we believe them ?. Would it mean them playing out of there skin for the remainder of the season ? Hell at the moment i hate these players with a deep passion and to see them put on our famous blue shirt makes my blood boil.
