Player of the Year Awards and Lap of Honour !!!

Why isnt this held after the season finishes? Seems really silly to me to have a party to celebrate something before the job is finally done, it sends out the wrong message. It also gives some players an excuse for a drinking sesh. On another note, this end of season "lap of honour", why is it always done after the game and not before? I remember the promotion year 1993 when the players did the lap of honour before the game, not only did all the fans get to the gound early to see it, it fired everyone up and we won convincingly, it was a great success.

So from now on please, player of the year, after the season, lap of honour, before the last game
