I've been going through the regulations on loans transfers but I cannot find anything to cover this. It may come down to the terms of the loan agreement if it covers a period which includes the playoffs then the answer is no.
But I understood it was a season long loan and Hull City season ends Saturday so who knows ?
Doesn't answer your question I know but it is a great question.

I'll bring back up the thread - there were some of the rules given, but its still a grey area to me

It's a tough one.
Hull's season ends on Saturday, ours (potentially) ends on the last day of May.
There'll be critics who say if we play Gerrard, then we shouldn't be playing Bellamy, Oli, Koumas, JET and so on and so forth.

Hull's season is over but Cardiff's isnt after Saturday so technically the " season long " loan is no longer valid unless Hull are paying him upto May 31st ??

I would guess if he is on a season long loan then no because the league season does not finish until May 30th.

Why do you want Gerrard back when we have Hudson and Keinan
Gerrard fell out with Jones there is no chance of him playing even if allowed plus i think he will stay with Hull permanently.

I would imagine that's the correct answer

Hudson isnt fit otherwise he would have played sometime during the last 2 games .......... the novelty of playing a full back at centre half was exposed badly yesterday so it makes sense to strengthen where we can considering Gyepes is the other option ??

Hudson played nearly all the second half at Preston!

After him coming on at Preston i am very surprised he didn't come on yesterday for JLS and switch Naughts to full back.
If he isn't fit he shouldn't be on the bench in my opinion.I would expect him to start at Burnley.

Right I have something the club can apply to the FL for a loan player to return to the club within the stated terms of the loan agreement. Any such application would not be unreasonably witheld, this is how Drinkwater & Keogh were able to be recalled by their parent clubs.
So it looks like there is a chance.
