HUDSON OR SUPERKEV??

Thu Apr 14, 2011 1:26 pm

In all fairness to Mark Hudson, he has been one of our steadiest players
this season despite being slated massively by people like me.

However. Would you shift Kev over to Left-back and put Hudson back in
the middle with Dekkel Keinan if Hudson was fit??

Kevin Ratcliffe was one of the best defenders in Britain at his peak, and
is only an inch taller than Kev, who is 5ft 10"...Ratcliffe was not renowned
for his aerial power. Ratcliffe read the game brilliantly, was brave, and
was as fast as most of the Strikers he was playing against. McNaughton
is better as a Central Defender than he is at full-back.

I actually think he's Premiership quality when he plays there. In Keinan he
has a partner who is also good on the ball, but also deceptively strong!

I'd HATE to see a situation like last season where DJ broke up a winning
combination just to see one of his 'favourites' back in the fray. Hudson
has had a good season, but right now PLEASE DJ.... go with the form players!!

I think the current combination will hold firm, stand tall and get us promoted
whether its Naylor OR Darcy at Left-back... do not move KMAC

Yes.

I think you'd have to take into account who we've played these past 3 games - sides near the bottom of the league, and McNaughton has done well to be fair to him.

But Hudson over him @ CB all day long I'm afraid. He has been quality all season, not just since the turn of the year like most people are saying  You could then keep Samuel at LB to make sure he keeps gaining match fitness, and stick Kev at RB (this would be very harsh on Quinn), but I feel the defence would be better balanced, and Samuel is quality by the sounds of it (and I have seen him play, it's just the fact he's only played 2 games for us yet.
