1971 revenge

On a Tuesday night in 1971 I had my worst moment as a City fan, I was 12. Tonight I want revenge
We had a game in hand and one point behind Sheff Utd, a win and we were virtually promoted to the old 1st division.
We got hammered 5-1. Sheff Utd were promoted. I was too young to go to away games then, so we had to sit around the radio and we listened in horror. I have never felt so down
So tonight we owe them one big time.
I hope we send them down and I can at last put to bed the memory of that night

Forty years is a long time to wait for revenge,remember that well .So lets go Bluebirds and send them down . Done us to win 4-0 tonight but will settle for 3 points any score will do.

I hate to say it but I was there! Steve derett scored for us, and next season we signed two of their players Gil Rees and dave powell, drove up and back in my old TR2 ( with the top down, both ways
