I am a close friend of Nick Thatcher, Huw's Dad, and we have supported the club all our lives. I am 50 years of age and have a 16 year old son, Nick is 49 and his son Huw was 15 when he died just over 3 weeks ago. I can't begin to tell you the heartache all of us have endured since Huw's death, but of course his Dad Nick, his Mum Jenny and his sister Carys, aged just 13, have felt the pain more than anyone.
Huw Thatcher died on March 13th 2011, playing football. Huw had a brain haemorrhage as a result of a pre existing condition that no one knew about, or could have known about.
He was a massive Cardiff City fan and travelled with his dad Nick from their home in Yorkshire to see the Bluebirds whenever possible.
The Huw Thatcher Trust has been set up by his family and they are looking for your help to raise money for the Disabilities Trust Charity and specifically the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

http://www.justgiving.com/nicholas-thatcherCardiff City FC welcomed Huw's family as their guests at the Cardiff City Stadium last Saturday and there is a report on the Club's official website.
At the time of Huw's death a thread of condolency was opened on CCMB and hundreds of good wishes were posted which were of great comfort to Nick, Jenny and Carys.
We would be so grateful if you could please visit the "justgiving" website at the link above and leave a donation, no matter how small, to help lads like Huw who survive, but only to face a lifetime of dependency on others. Thank you.
