Anyone Remember May 2, 1981 ???

We played Derby at home, game ended 0-0 [crowd 7577]. Swansea played away to Preston on the same day,,,how did you feel after the game?

A lad I work with went to the swansea game,he said as their train was coming home people were clapping them every time they stopped.He said they were shaking hands with jacks and wishing them good luck.Between Cardiff and Neath nearly every window was put through with people lining the tracks to brick them.
It was on the news at the time.

I even remember August 81 while we away to Oldham having to listen to the goal updates when they scored 5 at home to Leeds ! The bus was late arriving and City were 2 - 0 when we got there ..................... finished 2 - 2 in a season we got relegated

I was at that Derby game, felt bad that Swansea went up, but them beating Preston ,who were facing relagation like us that season, meant that we needed a point against West Ham the following wednesday which we did drawing the game 0-0.
