Are they really Welsh ??

Mon Mar 28, 2011 7:44 am

After reading the match programme on Sat the number of the Wales squad born in England with a Welsh grand parent just about sums it up .............. passionless Englishmen in a red shirt making a quick buck from the game !!!! The days of being Welsh have gone from football due to these " Englishmen " and just look back to the 70's , 80's and 90's then putting on a red shirt actually meant something and we did win a few games too !

We should have 100% Welshmen or none at all. If you're not born in Wales and/or have Welsh parents, don't play for us

There is alot of truth in what you say, You could see right from the off who was the most passionet about the game , again it was Bellers run here run there, and really got stuck in. But then he never even seen much of the ball.

I remember Vinny when he put that Red shirt on , he even learnt the Welsh Anthem and you could see him really sining his lungs out. Its ok to go looking for player with some kind of Welsh in them , but you can never feel for Wales the way a true Welshman feel for his country. I guess you can blame GOD ! after all if he made too many of them ,then we true Welshmen would be too common like the english , but most true Welsh things are hard to fined, a true Welshman is like Welsh GOLD !

yes but back then Ireland had quality players but never good enough to play for England so they chose the Irish route as a result of that ...... I mean the average Welsh players ( born in Wales ) who can lift themselves when they pull a Welsh shirt on . Speed got a long way to go yet to come anywhere near Mark Hughes as a manager !!

Totaly agree with you. Our team during the 70s,80s,90s were mainly 2nd & 3rd division players. But they played with passion and pride.
