Embargos only apply to players coming IN to a club mate.

Our club deny we were ever in for him.
As the rumour originated from King's agent -who is as much a lowlife as King is, I'll beleive our club for now, unless anyone KNOWS different.
King was probably looking for a way out as Boothroyd, his mate had left Cov - and knows we are suckers for paying stupid wages.

I was dissapointed we didnt get him, a horrible man but a good footballer.
