In fact you have answered your own question. The flag hangs in the stadium to welcome an Israeli player to our Club, as does the Nigerian, Hungarian and Malaysian flags. None of the flags has anything to do with making a political statement. Why pick on only Israel? If that is your stance then every national flag should be banned at grounds. Go the whole hog and inform the Club we don't want any Israeli players either playing for us, a player who, incidentally, has been the most consistent since he has come into our Club. But since you brought up the political aspect do you know that:

(1) As a point of information Israel is the only democratic nation in the Middle East.

Well lets put it this way, once they are arrested they are never heard of again. Only last night they bombed 2 more areas of Palestine. ITS THE PALESTINIANS COUNTRY END OFF.

One very important point regarding the Israeli's. When the British troops rescued them from the Nazi camps they found them safe passage to Israel. Within a matter of a few months they had turned their guns on the very British soldiers that rescued them. They then concentrated on ethnically cleansing all the Arabs out of the land where they had lived for a 1000 years.

I believe that any country that has gone into a country and kicked out the people whos country it really is and makes them people live by there rules need to be sorted out. And of course this country the UK government if they had any kind of interest in peoples welfare would have done something about it long ago. But the truth is They got f--k all that this government wants.and nothing to gain by going in to help, also they would then upset the Yanks that is against the poor people that were kicked out. This goverment see only what they want too and how they can benifit from it.

Now, Arabs lived on the land for 1000 years? You might want to review the census figures for the land when Britain held the mandate, in the 1910s. To support the documented figures, each Palestinian woman would have had to have had ten children... a year. Which smacks of immigration, something most people here slag off at every opportunity. And if you want to go back further in history, you'd realise Jews lived there well before - being conquered and dispersed by the Romans. So if you want to establish a prior claim on the land ( and what precisely was built on top of the Temple Mount? ), then you'd not be able to disagree Israel's right to exist.

Re: your response to me, I agree with the tone of how you see it. There is wrong on both sides. That's why I don't listen to the news. i just feel that Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East as pointed out elsewhere previously, should not stoop to the level that the Palestinians find themselves needing to(forced to, depending on your view). Without Israel leaving themselves open and unsecure of course.
