They are better quality and price if you take a short tram ride out of city centre, we go every year and we stay at best western blue square. Its cheap and plenty going on around at night. The tram ride is like going from Cardiff city centre to ely bridge

I've stayed there a few times in a few of the rooms, they have different ones, some are sort of themed but basically they are like if you were staying at someones flat, Have a look at the pics on the site. It's ideal if you want a group of you to stay together, they are fine with you blazing weed in there as well, and in the one room even had an assortment of pipes and bongs to use! It's pretty cheap and smack bang in the centre, some rooms are in a building over looking one of the squares and the other rooms are in a building about a block away above a coffee shop, both in the red light district
