Monty, firstly welcome on board and I am very interested in this first post, I find it disturbing that a fan for the past 38 years feels this way. Firstly because you will have seen 3/4 of time mostly crap served up in front of you but recent times should be giving you a buzz but this is a situation the club need to address, you should not feel out in the cold.

I cannot see Man City cancelling the contract Chris but maybe Bellamy and the club can come to an agreement :ayatollah:

That being said tho we'll be able to afford the fee anyway with all them millions we'll get from going up :D :D

thats a joke tbh, why should small clubs have to pay that much to have the chance to play on the pitch, its a once in a lifetime chance, the club really does take the p*ss

To be fair, that's a decent price, it sounds alot initially, but if it does include match tickets then its fair enough. Could I pay the £1500 and have the opportunity for tickets for all of my mates and play on the pitch at half time?

Thanks to Gwyn and Carl, thats how it came about this video theyve made last week with Bellers. Also they have both asked the Club for more support from the Club to be closer with its fans, just hope Gethin Jenkins listens.

Gethin Jenkins may well listen but with DJ there is no chance.

Another good update but perhaps where Carl mentions the CLUB regarding the loss of Adam Matthews you really should change that to DJ because there is the guy responsible no doubt about that. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: STICKY : " SUNDAY 06th MARCH 2011 UPDATE "

Thanks for the update Carl, really enjoyed reading it.

Personally I dont think Adam Matthews had it in him. He was played at fullback, out of position, becuase he was not good enough to play on the wing, in position, and he was never going to get ahead of Burke or Whitts. As we saw last season he was responsible for quite a few of the goals we let in, the Forest home game he was slaughtered by was it Anderson. That was then when everyone thought Adam was awesome. Some of us then saw the weak link in his play and we were to suffer latter on into the season where he leaked some goals in down his side. He is nowhere near as bad as Naylor but even so he was a weak link at full back.

The family stand setup is a bit of a bearbug for me. As you know I sometimes bring my 3 daughters to a game and try to get into the family stand. I just cannot get 4 seats togther which is annoying as you know each game there was always plenty empty. It really bugs me that people have snapped up these "free" seats but dont take their kids to the game. I hope the club address this for next season. I wanted to take my kids to the Burnely game before Christmas but could not get 4 seats together in the family stand or the extended Grandstand. In the end I had to pay £45 to take them to the Canton Stand. Not good.

I am one of the organisers that arranged for Marshfield under 10's to play at half time during the Cardiff v Ipswich game. Just to confirm that it cost £1200 in total not £1500, but still a massive price tag to pay! I feel Cardiff City should provide mini clubs with these kind of opportunities as our kids are the future of football. Also to clarify that we have NOT been provided with tickets for a future game. That was on offer if we agreed to the boys just having some ball skills on the pitch and not playing a game. We had booked this experience last September, so we were totally disappointed that Gethin Jenkins could make the decision to not allow the boys on the pitch. This decision was made last Monday, 5 days before the big day! Not sure who posted original write up, but if you know where we could get additional complimentary tickets, please let us know. Also views on the treatment we encountered and the price we paid would be gratefully received. Perhaps we could take this up with Gethin Jenkins!!!!!

THIS IS NOT A DIG AT THE CLUB - JUST REALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (some will see this as a big post and ignore it, i hope some of take the time to read it, especially you gethin!!!!!!)

how sad is it that the club charge £1200 - £1500 for a group of youngsters to play on the pitch at half time. ITS DISGUSTING.
as someone who spends my life working with and coaching kids, it really pisses me off, its just simple GREED!!
those who know me know i work for glamorgan cricket club. throughout the summer we coach run summer camps and work in as many schools as we can through out cardiff. what do these kids get : FREE quality coaching from a number of professional qualified coaches, a chance to join a club for FREE, FREE entry for them to all games, FREE opputunity for them and there class to be ball boys/girls, guard of honour for the players. FREE entry into all international games at the swalec. FREE use of all the things we set up for them, from bouncy castles to high tech bowling anaysis etc. FREE oppurtunies to meet all the players as they all visit there schools, and finally FREE TO GO ONTO THE PITCH AND HAVE A COACHING SESSION AT ALL INTERNATIONAL AND GLAMORGAN GAMES DURING THE BREAK BETWEEN INNINGS.

what do glamorgan gain in return, maybe a few members , a good name, good local image, massive intake in local schools and clubs. but you garentee all kids bring a dad that pays £15 for a ticket, he has a beer, kid has a burger, kid buys a shirt bang job done!!! and some will be hooked on the sport for life!!!

i will go back to something that happened last year at a school i was in based in right next to ninian park, where a teacher there said they backed the 'say no to racism campaign'' when it came to a player visiting the school, cardiff city declined, and leroy rosinoir (excuse the spelling) had to travel down for the afternoon. The club should be doing all they can to make strong ties and connections with local schools and clubs.
that is not blowing my trumpet or glamorgans trumpet. its just a few simple facts!!!!

RANT OVER.......

thanks for the update carl

How long have these policies been in place? And do the youngsters get any funding/ i,e Grants/council/ or even support from social clubs etc etc or do the youngsters have to raise Their own funding? This is a fair amount of cash over a season £30-35,000 minimum a season; That obviously isn't going towards the upkeep of the pitch.I know we all come on this MB with our points and views and have our MB Wind up target's, even jokers that purposely post sh'te just for reaction, Well' seriously all that aside Im so disappointed hearing how the Youngsters are now another source of income, take it how you want to take it! Anyone that agrees with these fees are forgetting that the majority of clubs i.e Burnley, Wolves, Liverpool even Man United look after the kids! and Their players are often seen at youth clubs, being part of that community. F*cking shameful! Dario Gradi Booked Us for concert to start amediatly after a game at Gresty Road , The Players'both Teams and a Sea of kids 'Mums ' you name it, free burgers' ice cream the lot and the place had a ball; and at the time Crew were as good as religated, My point, I Will not axcept that a Modest Club like Crew Alx can arange things for the Comunity. Yet CCFC got no time for anyone or thing without £££££ . They couldnt even make sure Players would attend aranged events in town, Team performances are easily out waid for Me personally with such gravalicious tactics from a club iv followed all my life. Disgraceful' when Cardiff City Trust have been campaigning hard to raise the funds for the Fred Keenor Statue with many Supporters helping to achieve this historical Icon. The Players/Management and Board and all concerned need realise that no matter what They think They'v achieved' that at this moment Fred Keenors Cardiff City's 1927 FA Cup winning Team still remains the only Major trophy to Cardiff City's Honor's list, Runners up in Cups or loseing play off semis or Finals can be romantic but sadlly dont count, So to remind all CCFC Staff that the last time Cardiff City Football Club won anything significant was 2003-4 and what the Manager /Players/Board at that time achieved was unforgetable, Only promotion to the Premiership will better that . So get off those High Horses and stop taking money from local youngsters to be able to play on that sh'te pitch for 10mins? And apologise to any Parents that (ccfc) had the audacity of Charging to see Their children play? FFS'' ITS ALMOST ENOUGH TO TURN YOU JACK!!!!!

One thing I wll say for Jay Boothrod that apart from his deserved stick of late, It was nice to see him push a City Fan on to the pitch Saturday Top

Thankyou for confirming the basics of what Carl Curtis said and sorry for your over charged experience by Gethin Jenkins. I and many others always thought it was ' FREE ' for in the community football teams and I had heard they tried to bribe you with free future tickets if you never had your game on the pitch.
Personally I would not let this go, its a Disgrace by our Club, were suppose to be helping future kids.
Our Club gets about a Million £ in Grants for the Community Kids.
