Interesting Debate (Not Cardiff though)

Wed Jan 26, 2011 10:56 pm

Had an argument with a Manchester United fanatic today who reakons Roy Keane was better than David Beckham for Manchester united?? what do you think?

My opinion is Beckham was better.

FACTS- Beckham 62 goals for Manchester United in 265 appearances...Roy Keane 33 Goals in 323 appearances... Beckham Still going strong at 35...Roy Keane retired at 35 after a poor 10 appearances for Celtic...[b]

Keane cost United alot of games with numerous sending off's and loosing battles with big opposition players like patrick viera..

Beckham 115 appearances for England (still going) and 17 Goals....keane 67 appearances for Rep Of Ireland and 9 goals leaving his team without a captain at the world cup because of 'facilities' and walking out.

whats your opinion..do you vote Becks or keane?

100% Keane, he was a fantastic uncompromising player. That Champions League semi final performance against Juventus (I think) was what football is all about, one man able to motivate and kick start the whole team. That drive is something we've been missing since Johnson left! :ayatollah:

Keane was way better, Beckham was able to get away with being poor for a whole match but score a free kick so all was okay. When Keane was missing for Manure, they would lose their nucleus. You say he lost battles with Viera - he won a few too against him too.
