Surely it can't be Burke, everyone I know think he's one of our most important players and can't see why he isn't a a guarantee for a starting place!

My thoughts exactly! Hasnt had a look in since Ipswich game and his contract is running out. Hes stil young too!

dave jones reluctant to play burke when he's playing well is this as he is trying to get use to life without him, probably costing us a point at least at home to swansea, burke would probably like a move back up north deep down.

If it's Burke or Mathews I'd be OK with that.

Burke clearly would rather be closer to his kid, perfectly understandable, and I don't think he's been anywhere near as effective this season as he was last. Couple that with the contract situation and whilst taking a gamble with Jay is worth it, taking one with Burkey as well is asking a bit much of TG and VT.

Matthews doesn't convince me as a fullback, Ipswich away, Reading away, the Jacks away last season you can name any number of games where he lack of concentration has cost us important goals. Now, of course, he's only young and such lapses are perfectly understandable but in our position where we are pushing to go up we just can't afford to wait for him to develope.

He will become a good player, probably in midfield rather than full-back, but in the overall interests of the club this season I would take him moving on.

Hmmm, sort of gives the departing player away, methinks (metaphorically and financially if whispers are to be believed) and it would disappoint me hugely too!!

But I'm not convinced the 'incoming' is someone who has been here before. I personally wouldn't want him IF he has dragged his heels up to now. Where's the 'commitment to the cause' in that??
