A. Cup competitions are no longer that relevant in today's game
B. Not really in City's best interest to progress in the cup this year
C. Was on TV for free and we are in a recession
D. Stoke not really an attractive side (no disrespect)
E. Big name players were left out of both squads
F. Mid week game so some (like me) had work commitments
All in all it was a bit of a non event and an unwanted distraction. I'm so focussed on promotion I'm glad its over, role on the Championship!

It wasn't so long ago 13,000 would have been a decent crowd for a league game

Correct and I can remember us getting 11,000 for a league game in the old Division 2 about 10 years ago and everyone thinking how brilliant that was.
13,500 was an excellent turnout when everything is considered.
