Having watched Watford rip QPR to bits, i knew this with Watford game was going to be a big ask for us, it should have been 5 or 6 even.
I just laugh at the over reaction, we are who we are, we got what we got.. living in the middle of jackland..which is hard work..when they beat us at home earlier this season, one of their ardent fans said to me--- (his words) The Cardiff scum need to know how to use their huge crowds as their 12th man...
11 players out played you, and 2,800 fans made more noise than you...point taken i was there!!

There are plenty of 'new' fans who love standing, singing, making atmosphere etc. I get what you're saying though - also a lot of new ones that want us to sit down and shut up

In the space of a season or two we have lost so many songs that soon fans growing up wont have a clue. Who put the ball in the english net arfur f****** europe, one man went to mow a meadow, chants at the opposition goalies and managers etc.. etc... Its bland and boring boring at the new stadium we have 5 songs and thats it. Im in agreement something needs to be done and the best I dea other than swapping the Canton and the Grange which I cant see taking off is for all of us to hold back buying season tickets and then look to get them all in One area. Other than that Im at a total loss with the new stadium some lads in block 106 told me to be quiet the other day as i was 'annoying' them my god these people wouldnt have a clue about chanting and supporting the team. Even if we go back to the 90's 2,000 together en mass middle of bob bank chanting eddie mays barmy building into a crescendo lasting 20 minutes everyone clapping and singing in unison. R those days gone forever I hope not. :(

Ninian park was decrepit and finished IMO, and I think you totally overstate the atmosphere Annis, we had terrible atmosphere there for the majority of games, also the football fan has changed, it's not about gangs of blokes now from the various areas of Cardiff and the valleys, we have now caught up with the rest of the country in where the ground is safe for families and children, women can have slash in an acceptable toilet, the biggest load of bollox though about the new stadium is how it was according to Sam, Ridsdale etc. is how it was going to alleviate the club of debt, what a complete load of nonsense that turned out to be, I have some great memories of Ninian Park and some of them all for the wrong reasons  , I would say my favourite game was the 1-0 V Spurs in the cup, from the morning of the game to getting home in the night the whole day was a massive buzz, but it's time to move on.

I think, and i'm not sniping at anyone, that this forum does stir a lot of negativity to the club ie DJ slagging that a lot of fans are going to the ground negative to start with!!

The ayatollah is needed!!!!!

Annis I said exactly the same months ago teams have no fear coming to cardiff the best atmosphere is where the away fans are why cant we swap ends

Also just read a lot of your posts plenty of Negativity in them.

Annis i agree ive been negative hence not having a pop at anyone in particular as been at it myself.

But i think we need to all draw a line and promote positive vibes for the team. The atmosphere is crap mate but i've posted previous we are suffering the Emirates affect. Its about the coin and thats modern football. Players on big money and the days of Perry, Stant are gone.

The ayatollah with the long oooohhh seems to get everyone involved.

Kyle Veysey Annis, the stadium has nothing to do with the atmosphere, its the supporters. The Stadium cant chant and sing. We've had great atmos againt the Jacks and Leicester last season, and no one moaned then. The stadium didnt change for those games so why cant it be like that always?

are you serious :?: the reason the atmos is in the away end is because only real fans travel not plastics exactly the same when we travel

Its the fans.

Remember the Leicester semi final? You can't blame the stadium or the acoustics. We've proved that we can make a cracking atmosphere.

Gareth Bailey Annis mate its horrible...if in truth i dnt enjoy going as much as i used to..the heart, passion and banter seems lost unless you travel away!was only saying last night i would have craved for a mid week Ninian Park floodlit cup game...the place would have been bouncing!there is obviously an issue at the club cos 19000 gates at the old girl were banging so why arn't 23/24 plus in the new ground the same...nothing seems to get going and when it does it dies out as quick as it started!

To put it simply, the club are trying(successfully) to kill any atmosphere.

I wish they could see the undoubted benefits it would bring.

One of the worst feelings in the world, as a supporter, is that of the club not listening to what the fans want. It's horrible.

I hope the club listen this time Annis

James Crook Totally agree nothing like it used to be at Ninian Park. Nothing much we can do apart from which someone mentioned in an earlier post is maybe set up a forum for all the old Grange End fans from Ninian Park then sort something from there??? I dont think the club are even going to consider swapping the family end with the Canton!

Re: " OUR NEW STADIUM WILL NEVER IMPROVE "

The atmosphere is not caused by the stadium, it's caused by the fans.

The only way to do it is by getting all the main groups and putting them in the same stand. 117/118/119 are obviously the only choices as of now.

Keeping it to this forum won't work, you have to reach out and get everyone involved. Everyone that sings that is. The kids, the students everyone.

It'll work. Or does every club that's moved to a rent-a-bowl stadium have a shit atmosphere?

Re: " OUR NEW STADIUM WILL NEVER IMPROVE "

Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:51 pm

i think that the atmosphere will get better, but only when people come together. the singers are spilt in the canton and the ninian. we all want one thing though ( mostly) and thats to stand and sing. it should not matter how far the away fans are to this area there shouldn't be no differences, its about the shirt and the passion we want to show it. because we demand it back from it.
last night against stoke i saw big groups of fans in the ninian and canton singing for periods of the game, bringing that together and thats your atmosphere, we have a bowl of a stadium :( but we can't change that now, what is good about it though is that less noise escapes. when the canton has been rocking this season it shakes with the vibrations. and im sure people in the ninain night say the same. we can have this. we just need to do something about it, and people aren't doing anything about it. people come up with new ideas and they get shot down.

* canton swap with family
*try starting an ultra group
*get everyone in the canton
*get everyone in the ninian

these are ideas that have been put forward by fans wanting atmosphere back, but you always get the same thing, some dick who moans about nothing being done then slates you for thinking of something. e.g the ultra thing or the swaping canton. ( im not saying your a dick if you disagree with some of the ideas because i wasn't to sure of the swap at first but i wouldn't stop it. its the people who run the confidence of others down whilst trying to start something and it stops the creative side to our fans.)

With that ultra thing, maybe not everyone agree's with it but its going to happen. one day cardiff will have ultras or that style of supporter, its growing through the youth. at away games thats the main song you can hear. im sure people in the ninian were singing it as well v stoke. the younger and future fans of the club love it, and they look at clubs in europe and some in the uk and see it thinking, " i want a bit of that"

sorry for the long post i just feel very strongly on this topic and want nothing more than a rocking CCS and an intimidated away team. Intimidating the away team/fans doesn't have to mean abusing them. i think backing our players and pumping them up has a better effect, it makes the away team feel alone and surrounded by a united front of fans.

It's pretty obvious the issue is the fact we are not grouped together. As already stated the club tried to create a signing section and have even allowed standing in 3 blocks, yet people did not listen and decided that standing by the away fans is the answer..this is not necessary to create an atmosphere. Look at away games, it doesn't matter where we are or what stand we ALWAYS make a racket. If one stand (designed to be the canton) had enough people grouped together so the whole ground could hear the atmosphere would improve massively as the rest of the ground would get caught in the buzz. The Leicester semi final proved the ground can be very loud. The frustrating thing is that people won't listen and persist to try and go by the away fans which won't work because a stand on the side of the pitch is always going to be picked by the type of fair-weather fan who wants to SIT with a good view, resulting in disrupting the singers by moaning to stewards.

i have come up with a facebook group which i think we could use as a place where people who sing and stand can join together.
have a read of the description if you can.
if you agree then please join, if not then don't. i only want people who believe in it.
the group is set as closed so no idiots get onto it and try and be all negative. if you do want to join and there are problems let me know /
if we ever want a good atmosphere at the CCS then we all have to stick together and get together.

this is just an idea, some may say " well we have MB's for this" but you always get some knob being an arse and looking to cause a stir. thats not what it should be about. it should be about packing one end of the ground and making it mental for 90 mins. :ayatollah:

The stands will never switch, why? Because its been designed to keep policing costs down, by putting families next to the away fans and more premium seats away from them, to incite less trouble.

Take Anfield and thier KOP end which is similar to out Canton, opposite end of the stadium to the away fans
and that still intimidates the life out most of the opposition. No reason why we can't do the same
