Where does he confirm his interest?
Pardew merely stated that he is an admirer of his!
I still can't see the club selling him for anything less than £2 million and if it was down to me, I'd keep him until the end of the season, even if a bid of £5 million or so came in!
If he's allowed to leave now, it could cost us a potential £90 million, by failing to get to the Premiership!
We're certainly not guaranteed a place in the promised land with him, but our chances will deteriorate greatly without him!

Why do you feel it's better he goes now? Just because Pardew admires him?
If Jay says he wants to stay then Pardew's comments make no difference whatsoever.
People seem very quick to turn on Jay based on the comments of others.
He's not said he wants to leave and I think he's right not to sign his new contract if all we offered was a £1,000 p/w pay rise. I know to almost anyone else that's massive but his efforts and performances deserve better.
He's our most important player and we should have made a realistic offer.
