29 next birthday needs to make as much money as he can before retirement. Has several options run down his contract and get a nice big signing on fee, could be for us or someone else come June, even if he goes now he will get a decent contract and signing on fee I would imagine. Stay, get a career finishing injury between now and May and miss out on millions.

Our fault as with Jo not getting him tied down earlier or if he wouldnt sign 12 months ago. Trouble is its this season that would have increased his value not 12 months ago.

If I was Jay i would stay and help the team that has helped him win promotion to the premier league. Then sign on afree in the summer. There is no rush. Going to a turbulent club like Newcastle is a mistake imo
