ANYONE REMEMBER THIS

Wed Jan 13, 2010 4:39 pm

It must be 30 years ago now, we'd been up to Swindon around January, we were on the third rammed full special train of the day, as we got into Swindon Station the guards and police were waving to our driver telling him tha game was off.
They wouldn't let us off the train and we started to make our way back, but they diverted us all around the country routes to keep the main line clear, after what seemed like a lifetime we found ourselves passing Bristol Rovers old Eastville stadium, and could see a game being played, it was Rovers versus York in the old fourth division.I found out later there was around 2 or 3 thousand crowd there.

Well one of the boys in our crowd from Aberdare PN, pulled the communication chord and the tain stopped, the shout went up "come on" and dopey tw*t here was first off, I didn't mean to be honest, but I was standing by an open door when one of our lads gave me a nudge, and down on track I was, I was stuck there like a melon now, it's a hell of a drop off a train when there's no platform, and i'd have had a job getting back up anyway, luckilly soon hundreds started joining me and soon the train was almost empty, we must have had 500 + full on loonies climbing over fences making our way towards Eastville which must have been about half a mile away. We had to pass thru a small town, well it was mental, everyone was caught on the hop and if we did half the things now they used to do then, we'd be banned from the League, but it wasn't just Cardiff it was everywhere in fooball.

When we got into the car park at Eastville everyone broke into a charge, you could see the Bristol Rovers fans climbing on the walls and looking through gaps in the fences and they must have been thinking "f**k me, York have brought a few, and their late and look mental."

Well we couldn't get in and soon enough every copper from the West country had turned up, they just f*cking loved us, we were marched back to Eastville station and they had to get a special train to take us all back, mad mad day.
