DJ will work with Parkin and get him fit. He's a target man which is what we need as cover for Jay. He's also one less bug man fir Hudson to face. At £100k, it's a no brainer

Agreed. Thought you would set your sights higher. I may be wrong but as I say at QPR this season he was a slow fat useless lump, really poor.

Dave Jones seems like he is the quantity over quality type. So who drops out????

Yep just 12 more signings and HUSDON can relax!! Sorry but I've never rated him....even if it was his birthday yesterday! He just has no mobility and think the money would have been better spent elsehwere!

1998–2002 Barnsley 10 (0)
2001–2002 → Hartlepool United (loan) 1 (0)
2002–2004 York City 74 (14)
2004–2006 Macclesfield Town 65 (30)
2006–2007 Hull City 47 (11)
2007–2008 Stoke City 35 (5)
2008– Preston North End 101 (28)

Goals in brackets - Not that impressive really?!

Better strike rate than Vaughan but no-one seemed to complain about Vaughan... and Parkin won't even be first choice!

Good deal as far as I'm concerned, as he's only 29 unlike Steve Howard, who's probably only got one season left in him!

He should also be good back up for Jay who is 6' 3"! Parkin is 6' 4" and if we bring in O'Brien who's 6' 3" as well, then we should be able to defend some throw ins at Stoke next weekend! :) :D :ayatollah:
Bartley the Bluebird sat down and scratched his head, he used to have a blue shirt on, but now it's turned to red!

have him over keogh as an option anytime ,just look at his goalscoring record.could turn out to be a shrewd signing, remember what leo used to bring to the team

Annis is wrong on this one.
Parkin has signed for the Blues.

Seriously though. He has always caused us problems.

6-0 ring any bells

i rate him , he causes defences problems, and scores very important goals for preston ,
i think hes going to be a bench player who will come on last 15mins to sit it out or finish the game off,

hopefully a good signing :ayatollah:

He might be first choice if we sell Jay! ;) :) :ayatollah:

Are we in danger though of becoming a lump it team and ignoring the obvious talents we have through our midfield? I know he's a target man etc but some of our goals this season have been exceptional and scored by playing with quick movement and a flowing style of play (more earlier on than recently with the exception of Oli's goal against Cov). Depends what we want I suppose which is ultimately promotion!! Dont get me wrong I'll still be going mint flavoured if he scores etc etc but just feel DJ is reverting to a the old lump it and see tactics.....ultimately we all have opinions so we'll just have to wait and see eh?! :ayatollah:

For 100K I feel he is a useful addition to our squad. A few times this season, Jacks, Forest, Preston etc it would have been useful to bring someone of his size of the bench to challenge. I get frustrated with the number of times we get crosses in the box as well and there is nobody attacking the ball, I feel Parkin would thrive on the crosses Bellamy, Burke and Whitts produce. For the knockers how many of you would have liked this option on the bench when Jay went off injured against Blackpool at Wembley. He will never challenge Jay for staring place but a good cheap back up :ayatollah:
