Portsmouth made to wait for their promotion to the Championship, but they need just one more point.

Portsmouth will be promoted to the Championship if they beat Bolton this weekend. Even if they don’t, they will go up if other results go in their favour.

The last time they were in the Championship was in 2012.

Elsewhere, Stockport and Wrexham could be promoted to League One.

If Portsmouth, Derby and Bolton all manage to clinch promotion to the Championship next season, the line-up of teams will start to resemble the old Div 2 when I first started supporting the City.

Agree, felt sorry for them when they were struggling in League One and League Two.

Great fans who deserve Championship football at least.

A certain Marlon Pack has been instrumental to their promotion and arguably their player of the season. He's a good, hard working pro and not surprised he's been excellent in league one.

I have a lot of time for Pompey too, we've had some heated debates with them over the years. Meet any older Pompey fans and ask them the time and you'll have a laugh with them, that was a mad day down there.

Agree, you just have to look at the clubs who have struggled to get out of that league.

Portsmouth, Bolton, Peterborough, Charlton all down there. Derby as well.

Some of those will go up this year, but it’s taken a while.

They’ll find it tough to go straight up to the Championship.

Wrexham in particular have done well with their 'Hollywood' billing; but they will find League One a stiffer project and the Championship (should they get there) a step too far under their current ownership...

Would love to see them up here, though, and the same with Newpot; just leaves them JB's as the only club in Wales I wish no luck on...

I often think what I would do with money if I won the lottery.

I change my opinion on cars, houses, boats etc but the one constant I've always had is that I'd buy the Jacks, get them liquidated and turn their stadium into a caravan park.

You make a good point in terms of the current ownership. They have got a lot of following because of who they are but is their wealth actually enough to succeed at the higher levels?

Only for Stockport & not Wrexham?

A certain Marlon Pack has been instrumental to their promotion and arguably their player of the season. He's a good, hard working pro and not surprised he's been excellent in league one.

He was always neat and tidy on the ball, but very rarely had a killer pass, tackle, or head the ball. As 'modern day' footballer as you can get. Came off after 90 mins with pristine hair and a clean kit

I've seen a few games, he's very comfortable in L1. Hopefully they stick with him for next season..

Well done Wrexham just goes to show what can be achieved when everybody at the club actually cares about the club and all now what they trying to achieve sorry but I’m more than jealous of what they have done I wish them all the best

Get the chequebooks out yanks, this league will need a lot more in fees and wages, and wait until you make the Championship!
