WOW JUST NOT RIGHT: “ CCFC “

Mon Feb 26, 2024 11:15 am

Something is not right as City we are told are producing some quality youngsters but they seem to fail badly once they reach the U21 team?

The under 21’s are not progressing at all and the majority of the players end up going to very low Non League clubs after they have played for Darren Purse’s teams:

Updated: Cardiff City U21’s lose to bottom club Colchester U21’s and can’t beat them home or away.

Darren Purse’s Under 21 managerial comes under more scrutiny as his teams continue more poor results.

Ollie Tanner starts for The Cardiff City U21’s v Colchester United’s U21’s as Darren Purse feels he is on a run after 3 awful years of his management:

Colchester’s players are from the ages of 16-19 years old:
Colchester United’s U21 team are bottom of the league and their first team are 89th position in the League.

Yet another awful result for Purse.

He simply has to go but knowing our board, they’ll probably offer him a new contract.

Ned , it’s becoming embarrassing and not good for our club.

Purse has to go and Glen Williams aka Media Wales has to stop praising Purse and making out they are doing really well???

Annis, it's a strange one. I am genuinely starting to believe that Purse has knowledge about ongoing at the club that the board are worried will become common knowledge

I actually think he must have something on us, because after nearly 3 yrs NO One would keep Purse on with what he had done with Our U21’S ????

The academy has produced plenty of talent in the last 10 years , they are poached /bought for the minimum compensation in between the age of 16 and 18 ,but the 2 Colwill brothers & Ashford in our 1st team matchday squads that have actually come through recently isnt bad tbh you could put Isaak Davies to that list too he may come back off loan a better player , how many do you think should come through annis ? Be interesting to see how many home grown academy players in other championship teams/squads and if they have the same problem of poaching by bigger clubs like us .

I’m 14 years it’s produced SO FAR ONE QUALITY PLAYER THAT HAS MADE IT FOR US “ RUBIN COLWILL “ A FACT

The others are maybes so far.

Plus every year we hear Loads of talent is coming through and guess what they end up in lower lower non league clubs

If we could get 2 to make the first team every year, that would be a great achievement.

Why not admit for once Purse is not the right person

Wez , when we can’t beat small clubs like Colchester home or away and have now struggled for nearly 3 seasons under Purse, I really can’t believe you can’t see there is a problem.
We are not losing NO where near as many players as you make out.
What is happening is players are making it to the U21’s then virtually 99% are failing badly under Purse.

the facts I've set out are true , the academy has produced your hatred of tan clouds your judgement, are my making up that players have been poached ? .no I'm not , all I hear is the myth that the academy doesn't produce which isn't true .also The academy facilities are top draw now , the only complaint I have got is we really need to get the top academy status to stop is losing our best youngsters. Gabriele Biancheri last season was a huge loss big things were expected from him but man utd came calling and that's history .

I can see the point that Wes is making and he is correct that we have had players poached for compensation.

My problem isn't with how many players turn out to be good solid first team players for other teams when they have been poached, my problem is around how their development at U21 levels is stagnated due to how Purse is managing the team.

How are they meant to progress while still at City when he clearly doesn't know his arse from his head.

Not true that is it , what about the players poached ? Man City got 11 million for rabbi we lost 3 players last sesson to man utd and wolves these poached players could of been in our 1st team by now that's the point I'm making .

1 or 2 a season is a lot annis not many clubs even get that amount coming through

You do know Wez we are not the only club who has had about 4 players poached in the last 15 years.
How do you think other clubs survive?

We should still have as a Championship enough quality to at least beat some of these tiny clubs.

My problem isn't with how many players turn out to be good solid first team players for other teams when they have been poached, my problem is around how their development at U21 levels is stagnated due to how Purse is managing the team.

How are they meant to progress while still at City when he clearly doesn't know his arse from his head.
