Wales handed huge Gareth Bale boost as Ryan Giggs delivers full injury update ahead of Denmark Nations League clash

Gareth Bale has been declared fit for Wales' crunch Nations League clash with Denmark at Cardiff City Stadium.

The 29-year-old had been struggling with an ankle problem following Real Madrid's 4-2 La Liga defeat to Celta Vigo on Sunday night.

It comes after he missed Wales' last two fixtures against Republic of Ireland and Spain in October.

But on Thursday morning, Bale trained with the rest of the Wales players in a session at the home of the Bluebirds.

And Ryan Giggs revealed that Wales' talisman is fit to start against the Danes.

"He's good. He arrived a little bit later than the rest of the group after playing on Sunday evening. But he's fine he's looked good this week and he's ready," said the Wales manager.

"He had a little bit of a different programme earlier in the week but the last couple of days he's been good."

Giggs won't be able to call upon the services of Neil Taylor or Chris Mepham who have both withdrawn from the squad due to injury this week.

But Giggs has revealed that George Thomas could be in contention to feature in the friendly with Albania next Tuesday after suffering an ankle injury last weekend.

"It's not ideal, Meps having to leave," added Giggs.

"George Thomas is not in the squad, he went over on his ankle at the weekend but that's coming along nicely.

"He's got a 50:50 chance for Albania, but everyone else is fine."

Wales will top Group 4 of League B with victory over Age Hareide's men in South Wales on Friday night.

And Giggs admits the incentives for finishing at the top of the group are hugely significant.

"There's lots of incentives to top the group," said the 44-year-old.

"First of all, to actually win a competitive group would be great and then you get a second bite of the cherry with regards to the Euros if you don't qualify automatically.

"It has an affect on the seedings for the Euro draw aswell.

"We started off wanting to win, it's a new tournament, we wanted to win the first Nations League group and it's in our hands.

"It's not going to be easy because we're up against a top class side who have proved over a period of time that they're tough to beat."
