Match of the Day pundits pick out two Cardiff City men for special praise as they highlight 'fantastic' fans in Fulham win

Match of the Day pundits Danny Murphy and Alan Shearer believe Cardiff City fully deserved their win over Fulham - and wonder why they haven't scored more this season with the talent at their disposal.

The 4-2 win over Fulham moved Cardiff out of the relegation zone and gave manager Neil Warnock his first win of the Premier League season.

Goals from Josh Murphy, Bobby Reid, Callum Paterson and Kadeem Harris secured the Bluebirds the confidence-boosting win in front of a bouncing crowd in the Welsh capital.

Warnock's men rallied superbly after going behind to Andre Schurrle's stunner, and both pundits picked out players for special praise on an afternoon of real emotion at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Murphy said: "If Cardiff had lost the the game I think they could have been cut adrift. People have talked about them not scoring, today they were free-flowing.

"Paterson, Murphy and Reid, really good the three of them, they linked up nicely. Murphy started the game on fire, he really troubled (Calum) Chambers who was playing at full-back. He couldn't handle him.

"Playing like this, this is not the Cardiff we've been watching. Yes Fulham helped them, some of their defending was terrible but when you've got talented players like this you wonder why they haven't scored more.

"Neil Warnock has been talking about the fact they have been unlucky in recent weeks and this will do them the world of good and the supporters were fantastic."

Shearer also picked out a player for particular praise, and stressed that the hosts were just too good for the Cottagers on the day.

The former England captain said: "They were just too clever for them. They had too much for them, whether it was strength, whether it was pace or whether it was ability. Certainly second half they deserved to win the game. They gave away chances, Fulham, and Cardiff said 'thanks very much'.

"I was delighted for Paterson because he was the guy with the strength and he led the line, (it was a) bit of a scruffy goal but that sort of summed Cardiff up on the day.

"They were quicker to every second ball and they deserved it second half."

was lovely to hear good analysis from those two as I rate the both of them as pundits, cracking display by City and lets hope we see a battling display when we venture to Anfield.
