I've lived in different parts of England over the past 30 years (still do) and spoke to so many about Cardiff over the years. The first thing virtually everyone says is they are nutters down there. Their fans are crazy, etc. I don't disagree with them as it can be an intimidating place to come for visiting supporters but mainly that was in the days at Ninian park. That has largely disappeared since the move across the park with the days of the red shirts and with thousands of die hards not bothering anymore.
Those days of division within the club are now thankfully history and the support is returning. Believe me, away supporters still don't relish coming to Cardiff because of past reputation. Cardiff fans have always been naturally boisterous, passionate, noisy and dare I say it mental at times. This 'atmosphere' is what makes the place a special place and why the media always mention it. The players will need the fans performing because the Cardiff atmosphere on its day is worth 3 points!
