he has definitely shaken off the rust, and Ralls playing the full 90, great news for the midfield :bluescarf:

He's definitely played himself back to match fitness and sharpness now.
Just needs to brush up on those throw-ins!

Excellent tonight can't fault that but I don't think that takes away from the fact he shouldn't have done walked straight into the team and it did have a negative effect.

Thought Bryson and Ralls along side him helps.

How do you get him fit apart from games?

U23 Games I guess.
The point is he didn't warrant a place in the team previously and in my opinion we struggled because of it. We will never know but in my opinion we would have picked up more points had he not been rushed back. Him being excellent tonight does not mean it was right to chuck him straight back into the team.

Easy to say after he put in a good performance.

Doesn’t alter the fact that he’d been poor in the matches leading up to this.

Did a good job tonight, hopefully he carries on like that.

Had a decent game tonight. All work rate and put his body on the line but he’s been diabolical in nearly all games up to now.
Not a fan but fair do’s for his second half effort.

He's improving every game as he gets match fit. Mr. Warnock is no mug, he knows how important he will be in the final few games, and now it's paying dividends :old:

For me him and Grujic struggle in the same team so Gunner had now made the position his.

Gunnar vastly improves......... when Ralls come back into the team.

All about balance, Gunnars, ralls and Bryson know each others game.

Playing midfield on a 433 is a thankless task especially when your wide forwards are doing next to FA, all three done really well, but Gunnars came up with the goal, so is tonights hero :occasion5:

Be honest, Forest bossed the midfield. I was relieved when Bridcutt went off.

Even though I'd say all the midfielders did a good job they really did. Think issue was more the struggle to get the wide played involved.

I think his commitment was shown with the goal and tackle at the end, he was never one not put in 100%.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion but we are so quick to write a player off! I don't buy this u21 garbage. This isn't the start of the season where he could slowly play his way back in over a couple of months, this is the buisness end! Warnock decided to throw him in the deep end as he knew he needed his leadership and drive when it got to twitchy bum time!

Thankfully warnock remembered what Gunner can bring to the team I.e. player of the year last season! Instrumental with Ralls at the start of this season!

Just to remind everyone he still won us a pen which should have got a draw vs Wolves!!

Look at the guys face when he scored he wants this just as much as the fans and wherever we finish this season he deserves more respect then he gets from some fans as a city legend!!

My point is it’s the same people going on about Gunnar who went on about Warnock at xmas and went on about Zohore three games ago and always go on at the players after bad results.

Maybe Gunnar shouldn’t have played in the last couple. But maybe North West thought he was worth getting fit to really make an impact over the last few games?

If we had got more points in the games he was shocking we may not have needed his impact as much? We don't know either way really.
I don't see the point in this thread really, he has had his critics because he has been very poor at a time when we had been doing very well. I think vast majority would agree he was very good tonight. Bit sad an attempt at a told you so (which I think is unjust) is one of the most popular posts on a night of a huge win. But that's modern football.

Agreed absolutely brilliant tonight but that doesn't change the previous below par performances which cost us vital points.

Come on maccydee we are all football fans who get frustrated when we lose. I always believe that because I pay £345 per year for a season ticket I have a duty to support the team in the stadium but the right to moan about poor performances on this message board or anywhere else if I think the player warrants it. Also by contrast I will praise good performances.

Gunnars is a great player indeed almost a City legend but frankly he was woeful in some recent games.

I would argue that modern football is Gunnar being written off due to performances against the multi million pound midfields of wolves and Villa. Any other midfielders could Have performed a lot worse. We will never know

Typical of our fickle fans.

Warnock Picks Gunnar that’s good enough for me.

Do one?? Really? Pretty pathetic comment that.

Shut the forum downs it appears nobody can have a different opinion to you, criticism and an argument that he was brought back was fully justified and even if it wasn't you can't tell city fans to do one.

Give your head a shake fella youseem to think your a super fan.
