Nottingham Forest's Armand Traore won first Senegal cap in five years against Uzbekistan

Armand Traore is on loan at Cardiff City from Forest

Saturday 24th March 2018

Nottingham Forest left-back Armand Traore stepped off the bench as Senegal drew 1-1 with Uzbekistan on Friday afternoon.

Traore, who is on loan at Championship rivals Cardiff City, won his sixth cap and first since 2013.

He was introduced after 74 minutes when he came on for Crystal Palace defender Pape Souare.

Twenty minutes in, Otabek Shukurov's penalty gave the Uzbeks the lead in the friendly, which was played at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco.

Moussa Konate equalised after 63 minutes to ensure it stayed all square.

Senegal will face Poland, Japan and Colombia in Group H at this summer’s World Cup.

Traore will hope to be there, but he has only played four times for Cardiff since joining on loan in January.

Meanwhile, Forest forward Arvin Appiah was named in the starting XI as England Under-17s lost 1-0 to Brazil in Murcia, Spain.

The friendly was played in preparation for May’s Under-17 European Championships.

I didn’t think it was a loan

Didn’t we sign him a day after the transfer window closed? And we would have only been able to do this if Forrest cancelled his contract.

I thought We swapped Jamie Ward for Tomlin on loan.
