The collapse of Carillon the multinational facilities management company (who it turns out actually have no physical assets at all) is yet another example of Government incompetence at best or government ministers collusion at worst.
Turns out that Carillion were in trouble way back in early 2016 - with stock market short seller firms (basically betting on the collapse of Carillion share price) - Lots of Government members are linked as directors of these firms - surprise, surprise !!!
Asking a more knowledgeable colleague of mine to explain how Carillion, serco, capita, G4S, and other so called multinational facilities companies run their business , he explained it as follows:-
The Government asks one of these companies to bid to build a road, or build a Hospital, or Paint an MOD housing complex, or feed a school, etc, etc.
Lets say, paint a school hall.
Quote 1:
paddies independent traders quote £300 - Government asks paddy for a breakdown in figures - paddy tells the Government £100 for materials, £100 for Labour and £100 for me.
Quote 2:
Jocks sweaty builders quote £600 - Government asks Jock for breakdown in Figures - Jock tells Government £200 for materials, £200 for labour and £200 for me.
Quote 3:
Carillion Quote £900 - Government asks Carillion for breakdown in figures - Carillion tells Government £300 for me, £300 for you and £300 for paddy to do the Job !!!
Quote 3 gets the contract.
No wonder the country is so F--ked up eh?
(Oh by the way, I am far from a socialist but I am beginning to question my views lately)
