I was shouting “let’s beat the amount Swansea raised.” Oddly enough, it seemed to make people want to donate and the bucket collectors were loving it. Good luck to Merthyr!

I chucked a quid in and would be happy to do that @ every home game. I hope the club have more bucket collections to help out Merthyr.

How much do they need to raise ?

Around £25k.

I think they are well on their way.

They had collections at Swansea and Newport as well and lots have given desperately including Danny Gabbidin and Johnny Owen

Has anyone contacted the club ? Perhaps the players and staff can have a whip round?

I agree tremendous by the fans to donate hard earned money, However surely football itself should be giving money I do not understand how considering the riches currently in Football sky/BT etc that fans are donating. I remember years ago having a donation at Home to Aldershot to save them and years later nothing has f*cking changed why oh why do they still get away with it. Prem League richest in the world paying wages that are ridiculous.

Few grand to the players would be pure change. Someone with contacts should put it forward to the club
