Cardiff City targeting move for out-of-favour Wolves midfielder — reports

The Bluebirds are one of the clubs reportedly on the tail of the versatile 26-year-old

Cardiff City are one of a number of clubs keen a move for out-of-favour Wolves star Ben Marshall, according to reports.

Marshall has been restricted to a bit-part at Molineux this season under the Nuno Espirito Santo revolution, making just six league appearances this season and failing to complete 90 minutes on a single occasion.

He has been omitted from Wolves' matchday squad for the past five games.

But, according to the Daily Star, the 26-year-old could make the switch to promotion rivals Cardiff, with Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday also linked.

Marshall is now reportedly frustrated at a lack of game time under Nuno this term, with the large Portuguese influx in the summer seeing him marginalised.

Cardiff are not looking to spend big in January but Neil Warnock has admitted he could be in the market "for the right player".

With Liam Feeney's loan set to expire next months and Anthony Pilkington braced for a permanent exit, the Bluebirds may target a wide man to aid their promotion campaign.

Marshall's Wolves contract runs until 2020 but he could yet move to a direct promotion rival in the New Year.

They will if price is right and we add buy on clause and of course he won't play against them.
