What is an injury crisis?

Postby Sloper Road » Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:39 pm

Neil Warnock constantly says we are badly hit by injuries and the lads left keep battling on.
Just exactly who is it that was injured over the last 5 games that he would have automatically picked if they weren't injured?
I would argue that it's down to two players. Zahore and Gunnerson. Even then, Zahore before being injured was poor in terms of goal scoring so he might have been dropped for a few games.
All teams get players who miss a game now and than again. This happens to us like Lang and Ward for example.
I don't believe we have been affected at any great level by injuries, despite what are Manager is trying to say.
On the other hand he needed get Tomlin match fit and Pilkington put on the bench rather than constantly overlook them before he comments about a lack of fit players.

Which ever way you look at it eleven players unavailable through injury is not good limiting options

We finished the Reading game without a striker on the field. All six of our strikers were injured at that time. Pretty much a crisis IMO. Eleven players in total being injured is pretty much a crisis. It's not just the first eleven but the bench has been affected too. Not having the likes of Zohore, Mendez-Laing, Gunnarsson, Harris, Bogle, Bryson plus others in recent games has definitely weakened the team and the matchday squad. A full team and squad would have probably beaten Bristol City and Reading. But there you go, injuries are very much a part of football. We've done well considering the sizeable chunk of players missing. To say that we haven't been affected at any great level by injuries is stretching it.

We won 4 and drew one since Bristol, so how have we been badly affected?.If we had lost 4 and drew one then yes that would be a crisis. As i said all teams have players missing for the odd game or two, we have only missed two IMO.We did not need other options in those games. We would have had a center forward on the pitch if had put one of younger players on the bench such as M Harris but he choose not too, he is in the squad,
