" When football no longer matterred... "

Tue Oct 17, 2017 7:09 pm

In the early hours on the 6th Oct I suffered a brain seizured and was rushed to the UHW. I can never thank the NHS staff enough for what they did as a week later I was released from intentsive care.

Looking back when I came round 36 hours later on sat evening one of my first questions was how did wales get on against georgia. The dr where hugly relived with this question however 24 hours later when what had happened started to hit me it was then i thought to myself that i will always love football but thr result will always be secondary.

I am looking forward to returning to the ccs soon, however i fear it will be months not weeks but one day.

Huge thanks again to everyone in the NHS who basically saved my life and for an amazing wife and family who carried me through.

Big love to all fellow football supporters and look forward to being back soon x

Thankyou all for your kind words.

I am very, very lucky and at 42 years old, fit and healthy - well i thought i was having done the Cardiff half marathon six days earlier, I will never take anyone or anything for granted again.

Cant wait to be back at the ccs although it will be a very emotional return.

Enjoy life and thankyou again x

It makes you realise what’s important in life hey. Glad you are ok but 42 is no age is it?
My mate who is 44 had a stroke a few months back, on his own at home, just managed to call 999 before he passed out, they kicked his door down and got him in the Heath and saved his life with new type of stroke treatment. That’s treatment has recently been stopped due to cutbacks but there is now a campaign to get it back. Amazing staff at UHW.
