Russia 2018 Play Off Draw

Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:23 pm

Fancy Republics chances against Denmark, not to sure about Northern Ireland against the Swiss though.

Northern Ireland will play Switzerland in the World Cup play-offs as they aim to qualify for their first finals since 1986.

The Republic of Ireland have been drawn against Denmark as they attempt to reach next summer's tournament in Russia.

Four-time winners Italy will play Sweden while Croatia will face Greece.

The first legs will be played between 9 and 11 November with the second legs between 12 and 14 November.

Shame its not us. Would have fancied our chances against Denmark and it would of been a cracking little trip in its own right.

We wouldn't have been drawn against them as we'd have been one of the top 4 seeded teams.

Actually we could have drawn Denmark. Wales would have been one of the top 4 seeds which would have pushed Denmark (who were 4th) down with the bottom 4 seeded sides.

Denmark will attack and once you find a way through Ireland they will crumble. Trick is to run at them they don't like that!

Hopefully Denmark wont turn away from what works for them, like we did!

It was on the basis that we would have replaced Denmark in the seeded half who in turn would have replaced Ireland in the unseeded half. We would then have played Denmark with the fixtures reversed. All a bit irrelevant really. I'm praying for Corny hattrick and a career ending injury for Maclean. OK that's going too far., I hope ee gets sent off due to a clear bit of simulation on the part of the Danes.
