Staying in the Atlantis, booked it 8 years, but my wife fell pregnant, so we cancelled, then it doubled in price due to Simon Cowell going there, I refused to pay double
and so waited for a better price
Yes I will def visit Cheesecake factory as I love my food
Jumereigh beach sounds good
Dubai Mall, sounds like spending money and its my wifes birthday
Thanks for the advice

We'll try to keep it under control, and not too much of a mess when you come back

Have a great time, Annis. I know a few people working out there (nearly did myself two years ago for reasons that are currently ironic) and they say it's a great place to be. Enjoy and catch up soon

Hope you have a great time & expect a report when you get back, would love to go to there one day myself.
A quick question to the two posters above, are these special Cheesecake factories or am I just jaded having one 10 minutes down the road?
I'm asking because my mother, sister & step mother all wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory when they were here (not together) and it was always the first place they mentioned.

Can't remember the name of it but there is a big park in Dubai which was very nice and Fujairah is only a couple of hours drive and is a lot quieter than Dubai. Its worth checking out the other emirates if you have time as they are all a bit different to each other.

I frequently travel through Dubai and on a few occasions extended my transit time between flights to have a good look around and take a bread from work for a few days. Dubai is definitely the place to do that!
The plus points is that there really are some amazing places, the waterparks are extraordinary and you could probably spend days in the waterparks alone.. Atlantis.. wow! The global village is a must. I also heard that the ski park is a great experience but never been. Truthfully for a family you can easily fill up ten days - that seems about the right amount of time for family break.
On the downside... some things are very expensive and people talk about Dubai as being a shopping heaven.. and it is, but can be expensive. although my shopping experiences are generally confined to Asia where everything is cheaper (and knocked off).
Also while I enjoy the achievements of man being able to create such an amazing place... it does all feel too man made and lacks natural beauty
You'll have a great time.. I would love to take my kids there
