Peter Whittingham leaving the field with a tear in his eye.

Was that Whittingham's last game for Cardiff City in the Cardiff City Stadium?

If that was the last off him, he is a legend. Been here for long time now.

Time catches up with everyone and sadly it looked like Whitts has accepted his time with us is up. Glad to see the standing ovation he was given by the Home fans thoroughly deserved in my opinion.

Thanks for 10 great years Whitts and for countless fantastic memories, you will be forever a true Cardiff City legend.

Has been an absolute legend at our club but for the last three or four seasons more a "has been" unfortunately.

Time to move on and thanks for the good times.

I don't think he will get a better deal anywhere else as he hasn't got 90 minutes in him anymore he will good to put on with 15 20 minutes left with his good passing so I think he might stay plus his missus is welsh and likes it in wales unless it is not his choice anymore

i think he is fully aware through his agent how much or how little interest there is in him and if our offer was anything but insulting he would have signed it.

Its a big drop in wages the contract we're offering but come on laddies we ain't in the big leagues anymore shelling out solly weekly contracts like we did in Malky days, a realistic offer of £8k a week for a player who's past it, Whitts just being greedy trying to hold out for better offers, he couldn't give a toss about another crack at the bigtime, for me I wouldn't offer him one, he'd be offered a coaching role or a one way ticket to pulukaville

whatever job you do ,you expect to have a comparable rate of pay to others who contribute the same. a bit more than those that contribute less. is that greed?
besides where do you conjour up this 8k a week from.

Exactly.

he'll probably never make this kind of money ever again, mid thirties is an early retirement. If he's got a chance of earning say 12-15k a week somewhere else for a couple of years as oppose to the 8k we've offered him then he should take it.

And then when he's racking up the assists, same people calling for his head will be asking why we let him go

I got a feeling IF (and it's still if at the moment for me) he goes we'll be seeing a regular 'Whittingham Watch' slot on here.
