Neil Warnock has revealed he has begun discussions over fresh terms with Kenneth Zohore the 23-year-old striker – as well as others in his squad.
It forms part of the next phase of Warnock's squad shaping for next season with the veteran boss ready to spell out the futures of a number of stars over the next seven days.
“I've spoken to Kenneth a few times in the last few weeks – and a few other lads,” Warnock said. “At the right time hopefully we’ll announce a few others that are extending their contracts.”

Peter Whittingham out of contract and still a a new contract waiting to be signed by Whittingham.
Kenneth Zohore, with a number of clubs already enquiring about the Cardiff City Striker.
Zohore has been ill and is expected to return this Friday night.
Kadeem Harris out of contract.
Warnock has confirmed Plymouth is one of our away pre-season friendlies, we are awaiting on the others.
Cardiff City will be based in Devon for Pre-Season training.
Warnock will see Peter Whittingham, Bruno Manga, Kadeem Harris and Junior Hoillett all end their contracts this summer, but is due to continue discussions about potential longer stays.

Neil Warnock:
"Nothing has changed. I’m actually seeing his man this afternoon, he’s flying in this morning so I’ll know more about him later on."
"I only want to talk to him to know if there’s an opportunity (of him staying). I know Bruno is happy here, it depends if there are offers from abroad."
Warnock plans to meet with the Gabon internationals' representatives on Thursday afternoon, but said: “They're flying in to meet me but I only want to talk to him to find out if there is an opportunity of him staying. I know Bruno is happy here, it depends if there are offers from abroad.”

PETER WHITTINGHAM, IS THIS HIS LAST MATCH AT THE CARDIFF CITY STADIUM,FOR THE BLUEBIRDS?
Whittingham's contract runs out this June.
Peter Whittingham currently on approx £20,000 plus a week, has been offered a new contract at approx £8,000 a week, but so far has not not signed it and at one stage it was withdrawn.
NEIL WARNOCK:

" I’ve not spoken to him or his advisors for three or four weeks."
"We decided to get games out of the way and have a little bit more time, when we won’t be training for a few weeks other than just ticking over. It’s not just Peter, I’ll speak to a quite a number of players the week after the season ends.”

Kadeem Harris's contract
Neil Warnock:
"We’ve had discussions, quite healthy ones. I think he’s improved under me, and become more of a regular."
"The opportunity is there for him to try and establish himself. He’s had a few years of him not being able to command a position."
"The opportunity is there for him to decide. I think it’s in his best interests to stay if I’m honest and to play for someone who will give him an opportunity."

"It depends what you call worrying. I don’t think they’ll be worrying financially because of the contracts they’ve got."
"Everybody wants to play football and everybody wants to be in the manager’s plans. You have to change things. We’re a club that needs fresh blood now."
"We need some players, we need a strong subs bench, which I feel we haven’t had since I’ve been here. We need a bit of a turnaround in some members of staff and you always lose one or two. Sometimes it’s a blessing for them because they go on to better things, they get inspired by a transfer."
" I’ve got to balance the books and I don’t want to use any of the money I’ve been given unnecessarily so, if I can add to that money by transfers, then I will do.”

Is the Newcastle match a barometer?

"I don’t think I need this game to be a barometer. Since I’ve been here I don’t think there’s been one game we couldn’t have won."

Those three things, if we can improve on those, which I think we can, there are a lot more points we could have had this season, let alone next. "

Neil Warnock has admitted he would love to spoil the party for Rafa Benitez with a home win – albeit in front of a sizeable away support – would hand the title to Brighton, a team he has long described as the best in the division.

“It’s all building up now till the end of the season and thankfully I don’t have to worry about anything other than next season,” Warnock added. “We just have pride at stake but we need to put a good performance on in front of the TV cameras. With Newcastle coming it’s a game that whets the appetite.
