Cardiff City will receive for the 2017-18 season the final parachute payment and it's just under a whopping £10million :thumbright: :bluebird:

For the last two years we have sold, sold, sold and offloaded plenty of dead wood.
Neil Warnock will still have to "cut the cloth more" as Chairman Dalman stated on Saturday, but a lot of that is some of the players we have brought in,in the last three years under the committee.

Up to 10 players will most likely leave and with Warnock only wanting to spend on four players and probably a few free agents, for me there is No reason not to back Neil Warnock as not only was he a proven manager, but has proven once again he is one of the best managers around by saving Cardiff City from relegation :thumbright:

Warnock has asked for £6million for next season.

It's a No brainer for Vincent Tan and his committee as what ever happens next season will be guaranteed to be an exciting one and will increase the crowds, merchandise, sponsorship etc

The excitement and buzz is returning thanks to Neil Warnock, let's keep it going.

Personally I have No doubt Vincent Tan will back manager Neil Warnock as its his best chance of getting his money back and selling Cardiff City.

I heard it was £10m we will receive for our last payment.

Of course that should be enough for what Warnock is asking for. My concern is that has that all been gobbled up with our previous signings like Lambert?

If Newcastle and Norwich go up won't we get more as parachute payments to those 2 would stop?

Ian, your rights it's nearer the £10mill :thumbright:
But I did not what to say that as Tans followers might have another go at me
As to Lambert the Committee have to take some responsibility and help get rid of him as they signed a player injured/ unfit and hardly scored for three years, then gave him massive wages.

I have faith in them to get it right this time :thumbright:

They will get it right because NW will guide them on what to do and not to do!

Something they have been lacking since they came in we have gained a Manager and footballing man in one

Surely the club will invest in Warnock, all the club politics aside, there is one thing that brings fans back and put bums on seats, and that is good results, exciting football and shrewd pricing by the ticket office. Lets not forget that the many many fans dont read forums, and dissect every decision that the club makes, they simply turn up when they think there is something worth watching, surely that time is now, and with a cash injection from the board to get several new signing, the club is on the cusp of turning around the catalogue of bad making we have seen over recent years.

Take this opportunity Mehmet and VT, you may not get another for a long time.

It does beg the question, if we've been cutting the costs for years and have been receiving the parachute payments plus the money Tan claims he has invested into the club... where has all the money gone? We are talking unreal sums of money here. I get the impression we're not being told the whole truth.

Re: " CARDIFF CITY TO RECEIVE £9.5MILL "

Mon Feb 20, 2017 12:21 pm

How about all the stupid money and signing on fees for players who were just not up to the job and all the money that malkey, ole, slade and even trollope ( lambert etc) spent vast omounts, then most of them paid up contracts and the loan players we still pay for a large part of their wages, that is where a lot of the money has gone

As you know I am a big Malky fan, but we have to be honest regarding Malky,he brought in through success far more money to the club than went out.

Well Ole,that was by far the biggest ever loss of money.

This isn`t extra cash compared to previous seasons. It is not a "bonus pot" available to spend.
£10m is less than the club has received for the last couple of seasons but the higher amounts were not enough to prevent the club making a big trading loss. Because of the high costs of running the club , mainly being far too high a wages bill, all the parachute payments have done is reduce losses.

I expect the May 2016 accounts which will be published before the end of this month to show a loss for the year , despite the parachute payment being higher than £10m.

By the end of this season there should be the opportunity to have greatly reduced the wage bill as a result of several players` contracts coming to an end/them being released or sold. This should allow some leeway in the Summer to enable Neil Warnock to bring in a few new players that he is targeting. But the club should /will still need to be cautious ahead of a season that will be the last in which it receives any parachute payments.

Wales online are stating that not many of our players contracts end in the summer tho and the ones that do are not costing the club at the min cos they are on loan elsewhere unless we are contributing to their wages

Reza, I just read what you posted.

We pay Amos £16,000 a week, what a total waste of money by our committee, he will be leaving.
We pay Whittingham approx £25,000 a week, his contract ends this season.
We pay Manga approx £25,000 a week, his contract ends this season.
We have been paying half of Le Fondre's approx £25,000 a week as Bolton were skint, that finishes this season.
I could go on and on :thumbright:

We will be really cutting costs with players at the end of this season, giving Warnock some money to bring in players :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

We need to get rid of the Committees Lambert, they have cost us a fortune, over a £million so far

I would give Whitts £8,000 a week, Manga £12,000 a week max.
Yes O'Keefe and a few others :thumbright: :thumbright:
Ben Amos, cost us a fortune and Bolton fans say he's the worst goalie for many a year, they don't want him back, but they have to.

Le Fondre, Bolton were desperate and needed a striker, but are virtually skint, but promotion they need this season,so they did a deal with City at the last moment. Suited both of us. :thumbright:

Could you remind us please what the losses were for the previous two years ( May 2014 and May 2015) and therefore how much of a loss we could make up to May 2016 without being in breach of the rules?

Assuming we go right up to the limit of allowable losses we can then calculate how much we could lose next season without being in breach of the rules.

This club has massive debts, and as has been said above, our parachute payments are just reducing our actual trading losses. Taking into account that Tan wants us to become self sufficient, the debts already outstanding, and our weekly operational losses, I am not sure that Tan will be looking to lose all he is allowed lose without breaching FFP rules. I believe he is looking to reduce debts, not add to them. I know some people say the only way he will get his money back is to get into the PL, but did'nt we end up with something like a £12m loss from our brief stint in that league. I am sure someone will tell me if this figure is incorrect, this is just from memory which is not what it used to be.

Is the £16k Amos wages a known fact?

If so how is he on THAT much at Bolton? I can't believe we are paying his full wage when Bolton are only paying half of Le Fondre's

Take these two loans in isolation (as they have swapped clubs) and instead of paying Le Fondre £25k per week we are basically paying £28.5k (£16k + £12.5k) for having Amos.

We would have been better just swapping players and continue to pay Le Fondre's full wage.

Yes it's a fact that Amos was on that at Bolton and we are paying every penny a fact, Bolton were a Championship club last season don't forget.

As to Le Fondre no one wanted him, we were desperate and as to the figures have a chat with the committee.

Rem they were two separate deals done many months later.

Not far wrong the loss was £13.6m on a turnover of £83m! I have always thought the same as you promotion to the PL doesn't solve a clubs debt problems as player wages and transfer fees simply swallow up the increased revenues.

Even Swansea who have been a PL team for 5 years and have been very shrewd in the transfer market making £millions on player trading are forever walking a tight line on finances. Relegation for them would be devastating financially and it would take years for them to recover, if at all.
