' CARDIFF CITY 1 BURTON ALBION 0 ' :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City pulling even more away from the bottom three :bluebird: :bluebird:

City are now 16th in the Championship and 8pts off the bottom three :bluebird: :bluebird:

City played Burton Albion who had had one win from their last seven games, failing to score in most of them,City today looked like a team lacking imagination.

Warnock took our main striker off Kenneth Zohore in the 67th min against struggling Burton Albion, for me Zohore gives his all,but is def not the answer for Cardiff City as a striker.
Tan needs to give Warnock money for a striker ASAP.

Warnock then gambled later on, putting striker young Rhys Healey on and in the 91st minute scored the winner, Warnock certainly knows how to change and win games.

THREE WINS ON THE TROTT FOR CITY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP :bluebird: :bluebird:

Crowd 15,547 incl 450 Burton fans

Cardiff City McGregor, Peltier, Morrison, Bamba, Connolly, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Harris, Hoilett, Pilkington, Zohore
Subs Murphy, Richards, Whittingham, Halford, Lambert, Kennedy, Healey

The first half was very uneventful and no creativity from Cardiff and struggling Burton looked the closest to scoring other than Kenneth Zohore having a chance, but never connected properly.
Over all the football was awful from both sides in the first-half and with Burton struggling badly before today, that was even worse by Cardiff City.

Warnock went for it,he took Zohore off and replaced him with Kenneth Johore and took Hoilett off and replaced him with striker Rhys Healey and it paid off,yes he scored 91st min :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

My man of the match once again is Sol Bamba :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Yes he gambled but obviously Healy is a natural goal scorer!

Good on the lad.

Much needed 3 points relieves a lot of pressure, healey deserves a run of games to see how he can match up in this league.

Def lifts the pressure and with Brighton away on Tues,no pressure on us.

Healey must be kept in the match day squad :thumbright: :thumbright:

So pleased for Healey on his Championship debut...
...previously coming on for Bellars v Chelsea in our last game in the Premier League

Hopefully when we are safe he can get more game time and see if he can do it at this level.
Always hope when they are natural goal scorers.

He won't forget that and great to see NW use both him and Kennedy so he needs a big pat on the back.

We could win at Brighton and reading personally use Zohore to run them ragged and bring Healy on again?

Karl, Warnock is not afraid to gamble, change tactics and play our youngsters and it keeps paying off,Kadeem Harris also playing well :bluebird: :bluebird:

We'd be rock bottom if Neil hadn't come and saved our season!!

Up the table we go Bluebirds.

He started the game (again) with the wrong set, but the genius is how he changed it. Started with a 442 without a playmaker in the the middle and boy did it show. Kick and (little) rush, league 1 stuff. Ended up with 4231 and we looked a lot better.

We got lucky, but hey, thats life. We certainly didn't have much earlier on (but you make your own luck)

I think we were bottom or 2nd from bottom when Warnock arrived? under Trollope/Tan we would be virtually already saying goodbye to the Championship.

Warnock is being left on his own and doing the job he knows best :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I agree it was an awful game, but to drag yourselves out of a relegation fight, you don't play pretty football.

I don't believe in luck, you make your own luck in football and if their is luck/bad luck as some say,it evens out over a season.

Warnock has won these type of game due to his substitutions :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Apparently there was something like 49 fouls in game!! Yes game was poor but can't help feeling stopping game every 90seconds didn't help flow of game. :old:

I would happily take a point at Brighton.

A couple of things struck me (not for the first time) watching today's match);

If Whitts isn't on the pitch, we appear to have no-one capable of delivering a half-decent cross/corner/free-kick, and

The decision-making from some of our players is questionable. A number of instances of giving the ball away whilst not under pressure.

Over the moon wth the three points but grateful we were playing a team that offered even less than us.

Fair play, Warnock saw it wasn't working and changed it. However, you do have to question his first XI selection.

At home against a team we needs, and should, beat why would you drop your most creative player in Whitts ?

I completely agree that in some away games he isn't needed but at home against a team like Burton he has to play. We were incapable of keeping the ball and it was easy to spot. Couple that with some of the worst set piece delivery I've seen in years from Ralls and the decision looks even worse.

We got out of jail today and hopefully a few lessons learnt.

Warnock has mentioned something about Whits not being able to play every game anymore - maybe he's saving him for the bigger games and looking at Burton at home as one that we could possibly win without him?

Not saying this is his thinking but could be one possibility perhaps?

I pointed the same thing out before the game as i guessed Warnock would bench Whitts. The theory behind my prediction was he needed to find out if Gunnar and Ralls could hold down the centre midfield on their own, if they could he could play two up top and get Zohore help. We seen one decent pass all game and that was from Kennedy, so i guess they couldn't.

For the next two away games i would keep gunnar & Ralls, but over time we'll see Gunnars rating go down as they do every time we get into 442. He is a DM nowadays, he sits in front of the back 4 and protects, when he does that he'll get MoM awards game after game. Not sure what the answer is except a genuine 10 , and play 4231. We looked like we ended with that.
