Neil Warnock is showing faith/loyalty and believing in Cardiff City striker Frederic Gounongbe or is it because Warnock is so limited regarding quality strikers,Warnock is trying to get the best out of a very ordinary striker?

Warnock has already stated on numerous times, that a striker is one of his first targets in the January transfers.

Cardiff City striker Frederic Gounongbe yesterday against Brighton:
Frederic Gounongbe his support running wasn't great, but did little to repay his manager's faith, in truth. Never looked likely to score his first Cardiff City goal.

My opinion is that Fred is no where near championship standard and yet again another failure. We showed by signing strikers like Fred, that we were never going to challenge for promotion from the Championship, this has been happening for the last 3 years at Cardiff and now I believe with new manager Neil Warnock in charge those days are gone and instead of brining in a load of very very ordinary players,we will bring in less players, but quality ones.

Warnock has stated he has three new players lined up and City are hoping to move on about eight players.

Personally I would get rid of Frederic Gounongbe,Kenneth Zohore, Emyr Hughes,Jazz Richards in January, another total of money wasted.

Just think he will get a chance just my opinion but not worried if he does go.

Agree with the comments made by previous posts that any youngster aged 16-18 if he is good enough will get a chance under Warnock. To many young men still on our books who should have gone.

Personally if I was 18 I would demand a loan move just to play and not sit around in the under 23 squad. Hmmm times have changed.

Maybe worth giving him some more game time this month and see how he develops before making a final decision. You cannot knock him for effort

I think you are being over harsh on Gounongbe who had no support whilst playing under the previous manager. Warnock obviously thinks he has something about him and I trust his judgement. He was OK rather than outstanding yesterday, but he was playing against the best defence in the Championship who have only conceded 11 goals all season so he isn't the only striker to have problems against them.

I don't think he's the answer to our striking problems, but he is fine as a back up for Lambert and badly needs a goal to boost his confidence.

I think Warnock is at this moment being forced to have faith in him, until January?

If you don't think he is the answer, then I am not being to harsh on him and to be back up to Lambert, who in my opinion is injury prone and passed his sell by date and we will of course get the odd goal(10 max in a season),thats pretty poor in my opinion,if he's not good enough to be first choice, been with us a while now and should of done more, don't you think?

He has started only one complete game since Warnock has arrived. I discount his form before then because the whole team was poor. He may have a few weeks now to prove himself. Lets. judge him on what he does after Warnock s arrival, not before.

We seem to never learn and the famous CCFC Committee do it again.

obviously id like to see new signings and us climb but id also like to see the turn over of players reduce.
we have signed 45 players { not including the likes of blaise and horton} and another 8 on loans since the day we got promoted
plus of course we already had players here.
in all 74 different players have worn the shirt in first team league and cup matches in the last 3 and a bit seasons.madness

Fred and Zohore are garbage. Zohore looked interesting to begin with but his technique is just shocking. Fred is just not up to it.

I saw potential in Gestede when he was here, as despite some comedy moments, he did have a touch of class now and again, and always had a ferocious long shot in him as well. He struggled with niggling injuries which stopped him getting a rhythm in the team but our results with him in the team and on form definitely improved.

Re: "GET RID OF THEM I SAY"

Thu Dec 15, 2016 4:00 pm

And there we have it, given a chance and one of the two strikers played a huge part in turning the game around for us.. always too quick to judge.

Re: "GET RID OF THEM I SAY"

Thu Dec 15, 2016 4:17 pm

The problem with the January transfer window is that most clubs are trying to offload their dead wood. That means that we will be trying to get rid of ours, and taking on another club's cast offs. We know we need a goalscorer, but not many of those will be available next month, and the odd few good ones who may become available will be in demand. Have we got the cash to pay the wages, and how appealing is a club in S Wales towards the bottom of the league. Keeping my fingers crossed Warnock can work some magic.
