' CCFC Team for Tomorrow? '

Mon Sep 26, 2016 11:23 am

Surely we must keep the winning team from the weekend, or would anyone change it up a bit?

Hopefully Lambert can manage 60 mins and then move Immers up top or bring on Gounongbe.

My team for tomorrow

Amos (Looking a solid enough replacement for Marshall, impressed so far)

Peltier
Morrison
Connolly
Richards

Whitts
Okeefe
Immers

Noone
Lambert
Harris (Think he deserves a start the way hes been changing games)

Dont expect Pilks or Gunnars to start but would be nice to see them have 30 mins at the end

Like the look of that team, think noone is better suited in the attacking role than whitts though.

This fully fit front four would really threaten teams;

Harris Pilks/Immers Noone

Lambert

Chuck in Okeefe and Gunnar behind them and id fancy us to fly up the table

Always advocated 4-2-3-1 and it makes room for Harris, but think he's going to stick with Noone.

I agree with this. Derby have no confidence and are firing blanks, but they do have pace. Noone can shift when he wants to and Harris has genuine pace. We need both if we're not going to be playing backs to the wall.

I was also impressed with Noone in the 2nd half at Rotherham. He managed the game with Lambert (took it away from Rotherham) and Immers rediscovered his role and his touch (again in the 2nd half - not so much in the 1st) and started to link really well with Lambert. Ralls was much better than in recent games (and was a goal threat again) but (with Gunnar and Pilks likely missing out again with injury) I think he is the one to drop out for Harris.

Whitts is frustrating. Real quality in set pieces and some fantastic passes (also Ralls and O'Keefe at the New York Stadium) but also a weak link in general play. However, I don't think we can afford to drop him.

My worry is the new flakiness at the back. Amos looks steady (better than Wilson) and Peltier is Mr Reliable - but the rest of the defense have me a bag of nerves at the moment. We know they can be better - i just hope the confidence from Rotherham and another day training (4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4,4,1,1 or whatever) and they revert to type at home.

I don't think Ralls or Immers deserve to start on recent form

Both were much better at Rotherham.
