The rumour persists from some that 'Marshy' wanted out but that is simply not true. He went for reasons relating to the club itself and not of his own volition. However, after some thought to what was said to him by City's top brass, he felt he had little or no choice and decided to bite the bullet

Totally agree with you mate, but unfortunately most fans will only look at the final score and a 5-1 thrashing regardless of blame will not look good on Marshys CV.

We had the best years, i don't buy into this idea that goalies go on forever, they loose those finite reactions, but we as a crowd are slow to spot and acknowledge them.

Obviously would have loved to keep him, but to keep him we had to pay beyond our means and that has caught up with us...

Simple economics
