My Opinion on this Saturday's game.

Rotherham are at best a 1st division side.

They are well and truly punching above their weight and they will always be near the bottom and in the end relegated.

How the hell are they in the Championship?

They are all British/Irish born and bred (that is fine).
At least 4 are in their 30s and 2 or 3 are teenagers. Every one (no exceptins) are either journy men or teenagers. They have 5 loan players & at least 3 will start.

They have Adeyemi from us & I don't know if he is allowed to start. To be fair the last 2 yrs we've had few older and/or loan players of our own - but nowhere near as desparate as they are. Conclusion: yes we are rock bottom now but if we don't win this one then we have more problems than we thought. There are no certainties but I feel confident albeit with some apprehension.

For me Cardiff should be looking for three points and I if I was Trollope. I would be upset with anything less.
If we are to stay up, then we have to beat these type of teams.

Wez, We surely have to win games like these, if not we may as well throw the towel in.

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see us beaten.

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Now is the time before we run out of it.
Preston and Leeds were winnable on paper, but looked what happened.
So nothing is certain in this division, but having said that,we need to win .

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Thu Sep 22, 2016 7:38 am

Yes this is a winable game .
We need belief motivation and football system that goes out to try win the bloody game what we got to loose we rock bottom stop sitting back change the system go get 3 points from em simple isn't it get Lambert in the game move higher up the pitch stretch the play with some pace .
Can't say no more go do it city

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Thu Sep 22, 2016 7:42 am

from what I've seen so far, it how much we want it as with some of the other 'winnable ' games it looks like we are totally disinterested on occasions, now is that down to confidence or players not grasping their role on the park ?

1-1. poor game.

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Thu Sep 22, 2016 8:15 am

Every game is winnable!

However with the current atmosphere in and around the club/team and supporters I don't see anything else than a loss at Rotherham.

Trollope has a weaker team than Slade,so Slade was able to get away with it.
But Trollope has to go looking for wins otherwise we might as well give in,we still have a fairly good squad :thumbright: :bluebird:

I just don't know where we're guna get a win from. Weather it's Rotherham or whoever else. If the other team has got more team spirit and organisation than us they're in for a good chance to win.

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Thu Sep 22, 2016 10:04 am

one way to secure the win - put Rotherham in an accumulator..

in all seriousness Id be surprised if we come away with more than a point. Well sit back lateral pass, wait to go 1 down then show signs of attacking but will do everything but score. Lose 1-0

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

Thu Sep 22, 2016 10:22 am

The first goal is vital. We played well for a time on Saturday and were the equal of Leeds until they scored. The team never looked like getting back - you could see the confidence drain out of them. An early goal here could change our whole season.

Still hoping and clutching at straws here, but I like to be positive.

Simon, Paulh only knows how to be sarcastic, he does not want to talk football and debate it, that's why he got banned twice in the past.
All he had to do was either ignore my topic or debate it, but that's not Paulhs way he likes to derail topics and get slanging matches going. Paulh was one of them who tried to ruin the forum before,I must be stupid in thinking he had changed.

All I want is for fans to debate and give their opinions on who City face this Saturday?

My opinion is that OP has dissed Rotherham for no apparent reason or justification.

They have every right to be in this division, and have done better than us this season.

My further belief is that they will beat us on saturday. Our team is disjointed, incohesive and lacks in pace and concentration and has no abilty to both defend and score.

Derby will do the same to us next week, and as likely will Burton and Bristol and whoever we play. Sad but it is a reality.

Mr Tan has taken away all the club's identity, structure and status as a football club. Until that changes we are going only way, and that is downwards.

We can do it providing we start delivering on an end product instead of playing keep ball for 90mins.

Just sounds like an opinion to me. I doubt if many supporters other than Rotherham fans wouls be thinking much different. After all, Rotherham are never likely to set this division alight. I imagine a lot of Rotherham fans are saying we are crap, and that would'nt upset me as right now they would be close to the truth.

His first sentence says "my opinion" and to be fair that's all it is. As you say, he has explained why, and while we all have opinions, not everyone will agree with them. Personally, I don't think he is far out here, Rotherham have for the most part been a small club getting by in the lower divisions. Based on their past, I would say they are punching above their weight and I imagine that success for them would be avoiding relegation.

Re: " My Opinion on this Saturday "

I think Saturday will define our season!
Lose it and we will fire Trollope and we could well be a number of points adrift with the team's confidence in pieces, however a win could really turn it round for us and push on.

I do believe that in a number of games this season we should have gone in at half-time a couple of goals up and indeed gone on to win those games, but for some reason faded from the game in the 2nd half ?? Many of us raved about the fact that Slade only had 442 in his locker, well Trollope has been brave enough to totally change it to 352, I believe the players have let him down, I dont think they have had the intelligence or the application to commit to the new method of play, by sitting back too deep which makes the system vulnerable. I would also question what the hell has happened to Ralls, Immers, Noone, Connerlly, Manga and Morrison, six key players who are so far from form its untrue.

I hope and pray that we get a result Saturday because if not we are well and true up shit-creak
